But Mordecai found out about the plot and told Queen Esther, who in turn reported it to the king, giving credit to Mordecai.

So Mordecai found out about it and told Queen Esther. Then she reported it to the king. She told him that Mordecai had uncovered the plans against him.

And this came to the knowledge of Mordecai, and he told it to Queen Esther, and Esther told the king in the name of Mordecai.

But Mordecai heard about the plot and gave the information to Queen Esther. She then told the king about it and gave Mordecai credit for the report.

Throughout that night the king was unable to sleep, so he asked for the book containing the historical records to be brought. As the records were being read in the king’s presence,it was found written that Mordecai had disclosed that Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king’s eunuchs who guarded the entrance, had plotted to assassinate King Ahasuerus.

Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how fathomless his ways!

Each of you should be concerned not only about your own interests, but about the interests of others as well.

Do not curse a king even in your thoughts, and do not curse the rich while in your bedroom; for a bird might report what you are thinking, or some winged creature might repeat your words.

When morning came, the Jews formed a conspiracy and bound themselves with an oath not to eat or drink anything until they had killed Paul.There were more than forty of them who formed this conspiracy.They went to the chief priests and the elders and said,“ We have bound ourselves with a solemn oath not to partake of anything until we have killed Paul.So now you and the council request the commanding officer to bring him down to you, as if you were going to determine his case by conducting a more thorough inquiry. We are ready to kill him before he comes near this place.”But when the son of Paul’s sister heard about the ambush, he came and entered the barracks and told Paul.Paul called one of the centurions and said,“ Take this young man to the commanding officer, for he has something to report to him.”So the centurion took him and brought him to the commanding officer and said,“ The prisoner Paul called me and asked me to bring this young man to you because he has something to tell you.”The commanding officer took him by the hand, withdrew privately, and asked,“ What is it that you want to report to me?”He replied,“ The Jews have agreed to ask you to bring Paul down to the council tomorrow, as if they were going to inquire more thoroughly about him.So do not let them persuade you to do this, because more than forty of them are lying in ambush for him. They have bound themselves with an oath not to eat or drink anything until they have killed him, and now they are ready, waiting for you to agree to their request.”Then the commanding officer sent the young man away, directing him,“ Tell no one that you have reported these things to me.”
