Never stop praying.

Give a lot of time and effort to prayer. Always be watchful and thankful.

Don’t worry about anything. No matter what happens, tell God about everything. Ask and pray, and give thanks to him.

But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy faith. Let the Holy Spirit guide and help you when you pray.

Watch and pray. Then you won’t fall into sin when you are tempted. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak.”

Always keep watching. Pray that you will be able to escape all that is about to happen. Also, pray that you will not be judged guilty when the Son of Man comes.”

Jesus told his disciples a story. He wanted to show them that they should always pray and not give up.He said,“ In a certain town there was a judge. He didn’t have any respect for God or care about what people thought.A widow lived in that town. She came to the judge again and again. She kept begging him,‘ Make things right for me. Someone is treating me badly.’“ For some time the judge refused. But finally he said to himself,‘ I don’t have any respect for God. I don’t care about what people think.But this widow keeps bothering me. So I will see that things are made right for her. If I don’t, she will someday come and attack me!’ ”The Lord said,“ Listen to what the unfair judge says.God’s chosen people cry out to him day and night. Won’t he make things right for them? Will he keep putting them off?I tell you, God will see that things are made right for them. He will make sure it happens quickly. But when the Son of Man comes, will he find people on earth who have faith?”

I have not stopped thanking God for you. I always remember you in my prayers.

“ Watch and pray. Then you won’t fall into sin when you are tempted. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak.”

I was speaking and praying. I was admitting that I and my people Israel had sinned. I was making my appeal to the Lord my God. My appeal was about his holy mountain of Zion.

In the same way, the Holy Spirit helps us when we are weak. We don’t know what we should pray for. But the Spirit himself prays for us. He prays through groans too deep for words.God, who looks into our hearts, knows the mind of the Spirit. And the Spirit prays for God’s people just as God wants him to pray.

The end of all things is near. So be watchful and control yourselves. Then you may pray.

Keep watch! Stay awake! You do not know when that time will come.

In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy.

Then the woman fell to her knees in front of him.“ Lord! Help me!” she said.He replied,“ It is not right to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.”“ Yes it is, Lord,” she said.“ Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their owner’s table.”Then Jesus said to her,“ Woman, you have great faith! You will be given what you are asking for.” And her daughter was healed at that moment.

So Peter was kept in prison. But the church prayed hard to God for him.

I’ve prayed these words to the Lord our God. May he keep them close to him day and night. May he stand up for me. May he also stand up for his people Israel. May he give us what we need every day.

Mordecai also gave Hathak a copy of the order. It commanded people to wipe out the Jews. The order had been sent from Susa. Mordecai told Hathak to show the order to Esther. “ I will pour out a spirit of grace and prayer on David’s family line. I will also send it on those who live in Jerusalem. They will look to me. I am the one they have pierced. They will mourn over me as someone mourns over an only child who has died. They will be full of sorrow over me. Their sorrow will be just like someone’s sorrow over an oldest son.

The Lord said to him,“ I have heard you pray to me. I have heard you ask me to help you. You have built this temple. I have set it apart for myself. My Name will be there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there.

So Jacob was left alone. A man wrestled with him until morning.The man saw that he couldn’t win. So he touched the inside of Jacob’s hip. As Jacob wrestled with the man, Jacob’s hip was twisted.Then the man said,“ Let me go. It is morning.” But Jacob replied,“ I won’t let you go unless you bless me.”The man asked him,“ What is your name?”“ Jacob,” he answered.Then the man said,“ Your name will not be Jacob anymore. Instead, it will be Israel. You have wrestled with God and with people. And you have won.”

Then Jesus said to them,“ Suppose you have a friend. You go to him at midnight and say,‘ Friend, lend me three loaves of bread.A friend of mine on a journey has come to stay with me. I have no food to give him.’And suppose the one inside answers,‘ Don’t bother me. The door is already locked. My children and I are in bed. I can’t get up and give you anything.’I tell you, that person will not get up. And he won’t give you bread just because he is your friend. But because you keep bothering him, he will surely get up. He will give you as much as you need.

Daniel found out that the king had signed the order. In spite of that, he did just as he had always done before. He went home to his upstairs room. Its windows opened toward Jerusalem. He went to his room three times a day to pray. He got down on his knees and gave thanks to his God.

Then we can give our attention to prayer and to teaching God’s word.”

They won’t take delight in the Mighty One. They’ll never call out to God.

Jesus prayed while he lived on earth. He made his appeal with sincere cries and tears. He prayed to the God who could save him from death. God answered Jesus because he truly honored God.

When you hope, be joyful. When you suffer, be patient. When you pray, be faithful.

Cornelius and all his family were faithful and worshiped God. He gave freely to people who were in need. He prayed to God regularly.

Pray also for me. Pray that whenever I speak, the right words will be given to me. Then I can be bold as I tell the mystery of the good news.

That’s because I hear about your love for all God’s people. I also hear about your faith in the Lord Jesus.

I am by far the least important of all the Lord’s holy people. But he gave me the grace to preach to the Gentiles about the unlimited riches that Christ gives.

And because you belong to him, you too are being built together. You are being made into a house where God lives through his Spirit.

May you have power together with all the Lord’s holy people to understand Christ’s love. May you know how wide and long and high and deep it is.

Because you are his children, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts. He is the Holy Spirit. By his power we call God Abba. Abba means Father.

The Spirit you received doesn’t make you slaves. Otherwise you would live in fear again. Instead, the Holy Spirit you received made you God’s adopted child. By the Spirit’s power we call God Abba. Abba means Father.

We thank him because we have heard about your faith in Christ Jesus. We have also heard that you love all God’s people.
