Then Jesus spoke to them again:“ I am the light of the world. Anyone who follows Me will never walk in the darkness but will have the light of life.”

to open their eyes so they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that by faith in Me they may receive forgiveness of sins and a share among those who are sanctified.’

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His possession, so that you may proclaim the praises of the One who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.Dear friends, I urge you as strangers and temporary residents to abstain from fleshly desires that war against you.

They are darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them and because of the hardness of their hearts.

But if we walk in the light as He Himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.

He has rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son He loves.

I have come as a light into the world, so that everyone who believes in Me would not remain in darkness.

in which you previously walked according to the ways of this world, according to the ruler who exercises authority over the lower heavens, the spirit now working in the disobedient.

While you have the light, believe in the light so that you may become sons of light.” Jesus said this, then went away and hid from them.

House of Jacob, come and let us walk in the Lord’s light.

The people who live in darkness have seen a great light, and for those living in the shadowland of death, light has dawned.

Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord shines over you.For look, darkness covers the earth, and total darkness the peoples; but the Lord will shine over you, and His glory will appear over you.Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your radiance.

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; a light has dawned on those living in the land of darkness.

The sun will no longer be your light by day, and the brightness of the moon will not shine on you; but the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your splendor.Your sun will no longer set, and your moon will not fade; for the Lord will be your everlasting light, and the days of your sorrow will be over.

For our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world powers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens.

For God who said,“ Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of God’s glory in the face of Jesus Christ.

Yet I am writing you a new command, which is true in Him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining.The one who says he is in the light but hates his brother is in the darkness until now.The one who loves his brother remains in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him.But the one who hates his brother is in the darkness, walks in the darkness, and doesn’t know where he’s going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.

For we too were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, enslaved by various passions and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, detesting one another.

But you, brothers, are not in the dark, for this day to overtake you like a thief.For you are all sons of light and sons of the day. We do not belong to the night or the darkness.So then, we must not sleep, like the rest, but we must stay awake and be serious.For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night.But since we belong to the day, we must be serious and put the armor of faith and love on our chests, and put on a helmet of the hope of salvation.

I will lead the blind by a way they did not know; I will guide them on paths they have not known. I will turn darkness to light in front of them and rough places into level ground. This is what I will do for them, and I will not forsake them.

He says,“ It is not enough for you to be My Servant raising up the tribes of Jacob and restoring the protected ones of Israel. I will also make you a light for the nations, to be My salvation to the ends of the earth.”

The true light, who gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.

Life was in Him, and that life was the light of men.That light shines in the darkness, yet the darkness did not overcome it.

and if you are convinced that you are a guide for the blind, a light to those in darkness,

to shine on those who live in darkness and the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.

saying to the prisoners: Come out, and to those who are in darkness: Show yourselves. They will feed along the pathways, and their pastures will be on all the barren heights.

For though they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God or show gratitude. Instead, their thinking became nonsense, and their senseless minds were darkened.

We all, with unveiled faces, are looking as in a mirror at the glory of the Lord and are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory; this is from the Lord who is the Spirit.

But it is from Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who became God-given wisdom for us— our righteousness, sanctification, and redemption,

Since we live by the Spirit, we must also follow the Spirit.

Consider the covenant, for the dark places of the land are full of violence.

So then, remember that at one time you were Gentiles in the flesh— called“ the uncircumcised” by those called“ the circumcised,” which is done in the flesh by human hands.At that time you were without the Messiah, excluded from the citizenship of Israel, and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world.

Do not be mismatched with unbelievers. For what partnership is there between righteousness and lawlessness? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness?

And walk in love, as the Messiah also loved us and gave Himself for us, a sacrificial and fragrant offering to God.

“ Therefore, having overlooked the times of ignorance, God now commands all people everywhere to repent,
