Now we command you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to keep away from every brother who walks irresponsibly and not according to the tradition received from us.

Then I heard another voice from heaven: Come out of her, My people, so that you will not share in her sins or receive any of her plagues.

So what fruit was produced then from the things you are now ashamed of? For the end of those things is death.

Say these things, and encourage and rebuke with all authority. Let no one disregard you.

Proclaim the message; persist in it whether convenient or not; rebuke, correct, and encourage with great patience and teaching.

And if anyone does not obey our instruction in this letter, take note of that person; don’t associate with him, so that he may be ashamed.

“ You must not harbor hatred against your brother. Rebuke your neighbor directly, and you will not incur guilt because of him.

Do not be mismatched with unbelievers. For what partnership is there between righteousness and lawlessness? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness?What agreement does Christ have with Belial? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever?And what agreement does God’s sanctuary have with idols? For we are the sanctuary of the living God, as God said: I will dwell among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be My people.Therefore, come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord; do not touch any unclean thing, and I will welcome you.I will be a Father to you, and you will be sons and daughters to Me, says the Lord Almighty.

I do not sit with the worthless or associate with hypocrites.I hate a crowd of evildoers, and I do not sit with the wicked.

You took off your former way of life, the old self that is corrupted by deceitful desires;

I wrote to you in a letter not to associate with sexually immoral people.I did not mean the immoral people of this world or the greedy and swindlers or idolaters; otherwise you would have to leave the world.But now I am writing you not to associate with anyone who claims to be a believer who is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or verbally abusive, a drunkard or a swindler. Do not even eat with such a person.

The wicked are those who rebel against the light. They do not recognize its ways or stay on its paths.The murderer rises at dawn to kill the poor and needy, and by night he becomes a thief.The adulterer’s eye watches for twilight, thinking: No eye will see me; he covers his face.In the dark they break into houses; by day they lock themselves in, never experiencing the light.For the morning is like darkness to them. Surely they are familiar with the terrors of darkness!

For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night.

Tell the righteous that it will go well for them, for they will eat the fruit of their labor.Woe to the wicked— it will go badly for them, for what they have done will be done to them.

They are gossips,slanderers, God-haters, arrogant, proud, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents,undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, and unmerciful.Although they know full well God’s just sentence— that those who practice such things deserve to die— they not only do them, but even applaud others who practice them.

One who becomes stiff-necked, after many reprimands will be shattered instantly— beyond recovery.

Poverty and disgrace come to those who ignore discipline, but the one who accepts correction will be honored.

“ If your brother sins against you, go and rebuke him in private. If he listens to you, you have won your brother.
