“ In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry,

Scripture says,“ When you are angry, do not sin.”( Psalm 4:4) Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry.

Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger,

And“ don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry,

Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger;

Stand in awe, and don’t sin. Search your own heart on your bed, and be still. Selah.

Cease from anger, and forsake wrath. Don’t fret; it leads only to evildoing.

Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice.And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you.

Don’t be hasty in your spirit to be angry, for anger rests in the bosom of fools.

He who is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a quick temper displays folly.

Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written,“ Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.”Therefore“ If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head.”Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger. It is his glory to overlook an offense.

But I tell you that everyone who is angry with his brother without a cause will be in danger of the judgment. Whoever says to his brother,‘ Raca!’ will be in danger of the council. Whoever says,‘ You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of Gehenna.

Moses and Aaron gathered the assembly together before the rock, and he said to them,“ Hear now, you rebels! Shall we bring water out of this rock for you?”Moses lifted up his hand, and struck the rock with his rod twice, and water came out abundantly. The congregation and their livestock drank.Yahweh said to Moses and Aaron,“ Because you didn’t believe in me, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them.”These are the waters of Meribah; because the children of Israel strove with Yahweh, and he was sanctified in them.

“ Aaron shall be gathered to his people; for he shall not enter into the land which I have given to the children of Israel, because you rebelled against my word at the waters of Meribah.

All these servants of yours will come down to me, and bow down themselves to me, saying,“ Get out, with all the people who follow you;” and after that I will go out.’” He went out from Pharaoh in hot anger.

Then Phinehas stood up and executed judgment, so the plague was stopped.That was credited to him for righteousness, for all generations to come.They angered him also at the waters of Meribah, so that Moses was troubled for their sakes;because they were rebellious against his spirit, he spoke rashly with his lips.

When he had looked around at them with anger, being grieved at the hardening of their hearts, he said to the man,“ Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and his hand was restored as healthy as the other.

Moses said to Aaron,“ What did these people do to you, that you have brought a great sin on them?”Aaron said,“ Don’t let the anger of my lord grow hot. You know the people, that they are set on evil.

But when Jesus saw it, he was moved with indignation, and said to them,“ Allow the little children to come to me! Don’t forbid them, for God’s Kingdom belongs to such as these.

I was very angry when I heard their cry and these words.Then I consulted with myself, and contended with the nobles and the rulers, and said to them,“ You exact usury, everyone of his brother.” I held a great assembly against them.I said to them,“ We, after our ability, have redeemed our brothers the Jews that were sold to the nations; and would you even sell your brothers, and should they be sold to us?” Then they held their peace, and found not a word to say.Also I said,“ The thing that you do is not good. Shouldn’t you walk in the fear of our God, because of the reproach of the nations our enemies?I likewise, my brothers and my servants, lend them money and grain. Please let us stop this usury.Please restore to them, even today, their fields, their vineyards, their olive groves, and their houses, also the hundredth part of the money, and of the grain, the new wine, and the oil, that you are charging them.”Then they said,“ We will restore them, and will require nothing of them. We will do so, even as you say.” Then I called the priests, and took an oath of them, that they would do according to this promise.Also I shook out my lap, and said,“ So may God shake out every man from his house, and from his labor, that doesn’t perform this promise; even may he be shaken out and emptied like this.” All the assembly said,“ Amen,” and praised Yahweh. The people did according to this promise.

When Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose up from the middle of the congregation, and took a spear in his hand.He went after the man of Israel into the pavilion, and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel, and the woman through her body. So the plague was stopped among the children of Israel.Those who died by the plague were twenty- four thousand.Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,“ Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, has turned my wrath away from the children of Israel, in that he was jealous with my jealousy among them, so that I didn’t consume the children of Israel in my jealousy.

The north wind produces rain; so a backbiting tongue brings an angry face.

In his day you shall give him his wages, neither shall the sun go down on it; for he is poor and sets his heart on it; lest he cry against you to Yahweh, and it be sin to you.
