to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up

He gave all these people so that they might prepare God’s people to serve. Then the body of Christ will be built up.

to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ,

Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ.

to equip the saints for the work of ministry, to build up the body of Christ,

for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,

for the perfecting of the saints, unto the work of ministering, unto the building up of the body of Christ:

to equip the saints for the work of ministry, that is, to build up the body of Christ,

for the perfecting of the saints, to the work of serving, to the building up of the body of Christ,

Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

He that speaketh in an[ unknown] tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater[ is] he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.

And I myself also am persuaded of you, my brethren, that ye also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another.

How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.

But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual[ gifts], seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church.

Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

And all things[ are] of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

Confirming the souls of the disciples,[ and] exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.And when they had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed.

Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed:

Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that[ is] unprofitable for you.

And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;

Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;And to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake.[ And] be at peace among yourselves.Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all[ men].

Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.

Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

And I am sure that, when I come unto you, I shall come in the fulness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ.

Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;

Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but[ this] one thing[ I do], forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.( For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping,[ that they are] the enemies of the cross of Christ:

But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

Again, think ye that we excuse ourselves unto you? we speak before God in Christ: but[ we do] all things, dearly beloved, for your edifying.

Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body’s sake, which is the church:

And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it.

Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:

Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

Let every one of us please[ his] neighbour for[ his] good to edification.

For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry.

That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.

So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon,[ son] of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.He saith to him again the second time, Simon,[ son] of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep.He saith unto him the third time, Simon,[ son] of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

For we are glad, when we are weak, and ye are strong: and this also we wish,[ even] your perfection.

Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

For if I pray in an[ unknown] tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.

And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all for your furtherance and joy of faith;That your rejoicing may be more abundant in Jesus Christ for me by my coming to you again.

How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?

[ There is] one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;

But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with thee: for he is profitable to me for the ministry.

Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.

Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.

Or ministry,[ let us wait] on[ our] ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;
