蓋天主秉其仁慈、隨其意之所悅預定吾人緣耶穌基督、得為天主之眾嗣、

he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will—

So he decided long ago to adopt us. He adopted us as his children with all the rights children have. He did it because of what Jesus Christ has done. It pleased God to do it.

he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will,

God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.

He predestined us to be adopted as sons through Jesus Christ for himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

He predestined us to adoption as sons and daughters through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,

having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,

having foreordained us unto adoption as sons through Jesus Christ unto himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

He did this by predestining us to adoption as his sons through Jesus Christ, according to the pleasure of his will–

having predestined us for adoption as children through Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his desire,

We have also received an inheritance in Him, predestined according to the purpose of the One who works out everything in agreement with the decision of His will,

For those He foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brothers.And those He predestined, He also called; and those He called, He also justified; and those He justified, He also glorified.

to redeem those under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying,“ Abba, Father!”

All those led by God’s Spirit are God’s sons.For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry out,“ Abba, Father!”The Spirit Himself testifies together with our spirit that we are God’s children,and if children, also heirs— heirs of God and coheirs with Christ— seeing that we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.

for you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.

But to all who did receive Him, He gave them the right to be children of God, to those who believe in His name,

And not only that, but we ourselves who have the Spirit as the firstfruits— we also groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for adoption, the redemption of our bodies.

I will be a Father to you, and you will be sons and daughters to Me, says the Lord Almighty.

The victor will inherit these things, and I will be his God, and he will be My son.

and not for the nation only, but also to unite the scattered children of God.

He made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure that He planned in Him

And you have forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons: My son, do not take the Lord’s discipline lightly or faint when you are reproved by Him,for the Lord disciplines the one He loves and punishes every son He receives.Endure suffering as discipline: God is dealing with you as sons. For what son is there that a father does not discipline?But if you are without discipline— which all receive— then you are illegitimate children and not sons.Furthermore, we had natural fathers discipline us, and we respected them. Shouldn’t we submit even more to the Father of spirits and live?

And in view of this, we always pray for you that our God will consider you worthy of His calling, and will, by His power, fulfill every desire for goodness and the work of faith,

I thought: How I long to make you My sons and give you a desirable land, the most beautiful inheritance of all the nations. I thought: You will call Me, my Father, and never turn away from Me.

Yet the number of the Israelites will be like the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured or counted. And in the place where they were told: You are not My people, they will be called: Sons of the living God.

For since, in God’s wisdom, the world did not know God through wisdom, God was pleased to save those who believe through the foolishness of the message preached.

For though her sons had not been born yet or done anything good or bad, so that God’s purpose according to election might stand—not from works but from the One who calls— she was told: The older will serve the younger.As it is written: I have loved Jacob, but I have hated Esau.What should we say then? Is there injustice with God? Absolutely not!For He tells Moses: I will show mercy to whom I will show mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.So then it does not depend on human will or effort but on God who shows mercy.

In that same hour He rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said,“ I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and the learned and have revealed them to infants. Yes, Father, because this was Your good pleasure.

For it is God who is working in you, enabling you both to desire and to work out His good purpose.

Have you not lately called to Me,“ My Father. You were my friend in my youth.

All the inhabitants of the earth are counted as nothing, and He does what He wants with the army of heaven and the inhabitants of the earth. There is no one who can hold back His hand or say to Him,“ What have You done?”

“ Don’t cling to Me,” Jesus told her,“ for I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to My brothers and tell them that I am ascending to My Father and your Father— to My God and your God.”

For in bringing many sons to glory, it was entirely appropriate that God— all things exist for Him and through Him— should make the source of their salvation perfect through sufferings.For the One who sanctifies and those who are sanctified all have one Father. That is why Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers,saying: I will proclaim Your name to My brothers; I will sing hymns to You in the congregation.Again, I will trust in Him. And again, Here I am with the children God gave Me.Now since the children have flesh and blood in common, Jesus also shared in these, so that through His death He might destroy the one holding the power of death— that is, the Devil—and free those who were held in slavery all their lives by the fear of death.

Yes, Father, because this was Your good pleasure.

The men of Nineveh will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because they repented at Jonah’s proclamation, and look— something greater than Jonah is here!

Paul, called as an apostle of Christ Jesus by God’s will, and Sosthenes our brother:

but did not know her intimately until she gave birth to a son. And he named Him Jesus.
