For all this I laid to my heart, even to explore all this: that the righteous, and the wise, and their works, are in the hand of God; whether it be love or hatred, man knoweth it not; all is before them.

我竭吾心思、詳察百事、知義人智人之所為、咸歸上帝治理、惟觀其人之所值、而上帝之眷顧與否、仍難逆料。

我專心觀此諸事、究此諸事、知善人與智人及其作為、皆為天主所掌、或愛或惡、人無所能知、因諸事盡屬未來、或愛或惡人無所能知因諸事盡屬未來或作或愛或惡與諸未來之事人無所能知

So I reflected on all this and concluded that the righteous and the wise and what they do are in God’s hands, but no one knows whether love or hate awaits them.

I thought about all these things. I realized that those who are wise and do what is right are under God’s control. What they do is also under his control. But no one knows whether they will be loved or hated.

But all this I laid to heart, examining it all, how the righteous and the wise and their deeds are in the hand of God. Whether it is love or hate, man does not know; both are before him.

This, too, I carefully explored: Even though the actions of godly and wise people are in God’s hands, no one knows whether God will show them favor.

Indeed, I took all this to heart and explained it all: The righteous, the wise, and their works are in God’s hands. People don’t know whether to expect love or hate. Everything lies ahead of them.

For I have taken all this to my heart, even to examine it all, that righteous people, wise people, and their deeds are in the hand of God. People do not know whether it will be love or hatred; anything awaits them.

For I considered all this in my heart, so that I could declare it all: that the righteous and the wise and their works are in the hand of God. People know neither love nor hatred by anything they see before them.

Indeed, I took all this to heart and explained it all: the righteous, the wise, and their works are in God’s hands. People don’t know whether to expect love or hate. Everything lies ahead of them.

For all this I considered in my heart even to declare all this, that the righteous, and the wise, and their works,[ are] in the hand of God: no man knoweth either love or hatred[ by] all[ that is] before them.

So I reflected on all this, attempting to clear it all up. I concluded that the righteous and the wise, as well as their works, are in the hand of God; whether a person will be loved or hated– no one knows what lies ahead.

Yea, he loveth the people; All his saints are in thy hand: And they sat down at thy feet; Every one shall receive of thy words.

In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, And the breath of all mankind?

There is a vanity which is done upon the earth, that there are righteous men unto whom it happeneth according to the work of the wicked; again, there are wicked men to whom it happeneth according to the work of the righteous: I said that this also is vanity.

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, and no one shall snatch them out of my hand.My Father, who hath given them unto me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.I and the Father are one.

When I applied my heart to know wisdom, and to see the business that is done upon the earth( for also there is that neither day nor night seeth sleep with his eyes),

And the king said unto Zadok, Carry back the ark of God into the city: if I shall find favor in the eyes of Jehovah, he will bring me again, and show me both it, and his habitation:but if he say thus, I have no delight in thee; behold, here am I, let him do to me as seemeth good unto him.

For which cause I suffer also these things: yet I am not ashamed; for I know him whom I have believed, and I am persuaded that he is able to guard that which I have committed unto him against that day.

Jehovah, thou wilt ordain peace for us; for thou hast also wrought all our works for us.

Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye peoples, from far: Jehovah hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name:and he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand hath he hid me: and he hath made me a polished shaft; in his quiver hath he kept me close:and he said unto me, Thou art my servant; Israel, in whom I will be glorified.But I said, I have labored in vain, I have spent my strength for nought and vanity; yet surely the justice due to me is with Jehovah, and my recompense with my God.

who by the power of God are guarded through faith unto a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

And now we call the proud happy; yea, they that work wickedness are built up; yea, they tempt God, and escape.Then they that feared Jehovah spake one with another; and Jehovah hearkened, and heard, and a book of remembrance was written before him, for them that feared Jehovah, and that thought upon his name.And they shall be mine, saith Jehovah of hosts, even mine own possession, in the day that I make; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.Then shall ye return and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.

But as for me, I would seek unto God, And unto God would I commit my cause;

Commit thy works unto Jehovah, And thy purposes shall be established.

And I applied my heart to know wisdom, and to know madness and folly: I perceived that this also was a striving after wind.

For I was envious at the arrogant, When I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

Thou hast seen it; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite it with thy hand: The helpless committeth himself unto thee; Thou hast been the helper of the fatherless.

For, behold, I have made thee this day a fortified city, and an iron pillar, and brazen walls, against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against the princes thereof, against the priests thereof, and against the people of the land.And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee: for I am with thee, saith Jehovah, to deliver thee.

And they say, How doth God know? And is there knowledge in the Most High?Behold, these are the wicked; And, being alway at ease, they increase in riches.Surely in vain have I cleansed my heart, And washed my hands in innocency;

All this have I seen in my days of vanity: there is a righteous man that perisheth in his righteousness, and there is a wicked man that prolongeth his life in his evil- doing.

What then is Apollos? and what is Paul? Ministers through whom ye believed; and each as the Lord gave to him.I planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.So then neither is he that planteth anything, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: but each shall receive his own reward according to his own labor.For we are God’s fellow- workers: ye are God’s husbandry, God’s building.According to the grace of God which was given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder I laid a foundation; and another buildeth thereon. But let each man take heed how he buildeth thereon.For other foundation can no man lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.But if any man buildeth on the foundation gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay, stubble;each man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it is revealed in fire; and the fire itself shall prove each man’s work of what sort it is.If any man’s work shall abide which he built thereon, he shall receive a reward.If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as through fire.

Commit thy way unto Jehovah; Trust also in him, and he will bring it to pass.And he will make thy righteousness to go forth as the light, And thy justice as the noonday.

Into thy hand I commend my spirit: Thou hast redeemed me, O Jehovah, thou God of truth.

He will keep the feet of his holy ones; But the wicked shall be put to silence in darkness; For by strength shall no man prevail.

I turned about, and my heart was set to know and to search out, and to seek wisdom and the reason of things, and to know that wickedness is folly, and that foolishness is madness.

And further, because the Preacher was wise, he still taught the people knowledge; yea, he pondered, and sought out, and set in order many proverbs.The Preacher sought to find out acceptable words, and that which was written uprightly, even words of truth.

A fool also multiplieth words: yet man knoweth not what shall be; and that which shall be after him, who can tell him?
