世間更有一患事、即有善人遭惡人所當遭者、有惡人遇善人所當遇者、我則曰、此亦屬於虛、

There is something else meaningless that occurs on earth: the righteous who get what the wicked deserve, and the wicked who get what the righteous deserve. This too, I say, is meaningless.

Here’s something else on this earth that doesn’t have any meaning. Sometimes godly people get what sinful people should receive. And sinful people get what godly people should receive. Here’s what I’m telling you. That doesn’t have any meaning either.

There is a vanity that takes place on earth, that there are righteous people to whom it happens according to the deeds of the wicked, and there are wicked people to whom it happens according to the deeds of the righteous. I said that this also is vanity.

And this is not all that is meaningless in our world. In this life, good people are often treated as though they were wicked, and wicked people are often treated as though they were good. This is so meaningless!

There is a futility that is done on the earth: there are righteous people who get what the actions of the wicked deserve, and there are wicked people who get what the actions of the righteous deserve. I say that this too is futile.

There is futility which is done on the earth, that is, there are righteous people to whom it happens according to the deeds of the wicked. On the other hand, there are evil people to whom it happens according to the deeds of the righteous. I say that this too is futility.

There is a vanity which occurs on earth, that there are just men to whom it happens according to the work of the wicked; again, there are wicked men to whom it happens according to the work of the righteous. I said that this also is vanity.

There is a vanity which is done upon the earth, that there are righteous men unto whom it happeneth according to the work of the wicked; again, there are wicked men to whom it happeneth according to the work of the righteous: I said that this also is vanity.

在我虚空的日子里，我见过这两件事：有义人行义反而灭亡，有恶人行恶倒享长寿。

智慧人的眼目明亮，愚昧人却走在黑暗中。我也知道同一的命运要临到这两种人身上。

现在我们称骄傲的人为有福，作恶的人得建立；他们虽然试探神，却得以逃脱。’”

恶人为什么总可以存活，活到老，而且财势强大？

我看见恶人兴隆，我就嫉妒狂傲的人。

我留心这一切事，并加以阐明：就是义人、智慧人和他们所作的，都在神手里。临到他们的一切，无论是爱是恨，人都不领悟。众人的命运都是一样的：义人与恶人、好人与坏人、洁净的与不洁净的、献祭的与不献祭的，所遭遇的都是一样的；好人怎样，罪人也怎样；起誓的怎样，怕起誓的也怎样。在日光之下所发生的一切事，有一件令人遗憾的，就是众人的命运都是一样的，并且世人的心充满邪恶，一生心怀狂妄，后来都归到死人那里去。

看这些恶人，他们常享安逸，财富却增加。我谨守我心纯洁实在徒然；我洗手表明清白也是枉然。因为我终日受伤害，每天早晨受惩罚。

有人孤单无依，没有儿子，没有兄弟，仍劳碌不休，眼目也不以自己的财富为足。他问：“我劳劳碌碌，刻薄自己不去享受，是为谁呢？”这也是虚空，是劳苦的担子。

恶人的灯何尝熄灭？灾难何尝临到他们身上？神何尝在忿怒中把痛苦分给他们！他们何尝像风前的干草，何尝像暴风刮去的糠秕？你们说：‘神为恶人的儿女积蓄罪孽’，我却说：‘神报应他本人，好叫他自己明白。’愿他亲眼看见自己败落，愿他喝全能者的烈怒。他的岁月既然断绝，他还会看顾自己身后的家吗？神既然审判那些在高位的，谁能把什么知识教给他呢？有人到死的时候仍然气力充足，享尽平静与安逸；他的奶桶充满鲜奶，他的骨髓滋润。有人到死的时候心里痛苦，一生未尝美食；他们都一起躺在尘土中，虫子爬满他们身上。我知道你们的心思，与你们恶待我的计谋。你们问：‘霸王的房屋在哪里？恶人住过的帐棚在哪里？’你们没有问问过路的人吗？不承认他们所提的证据吗？就是恶人在灾难的日子得存留，在神发怒的时候得逃脱。他所行的，有谁敢当面指责他呢？他所作的，有谁能报应他呢？然而他被人抬到坟墓里，并且有人看守他的墓地。他以谷中的土块为甘甜，所有的人跟在他后面，走在他前面的不计其数。你们的回话既然只存虚假，怎样徒然安慰我呢？”

他恶待不能生育，没有孩子的妇人，也不善待寡妇。神却用自己的能力延长强暴的人的性命，生命难保的仍然兴起。神使他们安稳，他们就有所倚靠，他的眼也看顾他们的道路。他们被高举不过片时，就没有了，他们降为卑，如众人一样被收拾起来，他们又如谷穗枯干。如果不是这样，谁能证明我是撒谎的，指出我的言语为空虚的呢？”

在日光之下我看见一件憾事，好像是出于官长无意的错误，

耶和华啊！我跟你争辩的时候，总是你有理；然而我还要跟你讨论有关公正的问题。恶人的道路为什么亨通？所有行诡诈的为什么都得享安逸？

我看见各样的劳碌和各样精巧的工作，都是出于人与人彼此的竞争。这也是虚空，也是捕风。

所以我说，善恶都是一样，完全人和恶人，他都灭尽。灾祸忽然把人杀害的时候，他就必嘲笑无辜人的遭遇。全世界交在恶人的手中，他蒙蔽世上审判官的脸，如果不是他，那么是谁呢？
