人苟生百子、享壽高、歷年久、而心不得享福、身不獲安葬、我謂未盈期而生者、較彼尤愈、

人有百子、又獲遐齡、生不能享福、死不得善葬、以我觀之、胎未成人者、較彼愈美。

設人生百子、又享遐齡、在世之年日甚多、而不得享所有以為福、死後亦不得安葬、以我觀之、以我觀之原文作我則曰胎死者較彼尤美、

A man may have a hundred children and live many years; yet no matter how long he lives, if he cannot enjoy his prosperity and does not receive proper burial, I say that a stillborn child is better off than he.

A man might have a hundred children. He might live a long time. But suppose he can’t enjoy his wealth. And suppose he isn’t buried in the proper way. Then it doesn’t matter how long he lives. I’m telling you that a baby that is born dead is better off than that man is.

If a man fathers a hundred children and lives many years, so that the days of his years are many, but his soul is not satisfied with life’s good things, and he also has no burial, I say that a stillborn child is better off than he.

A man might have a hundred children and live to be very old. But if he finds no satisfaction in life and doesn’t even get a decent burial, it would have been better for him to be born dead.

或像隐而未现、不到期而落的胎，归于无有，如同未见光的婴孩。

并且我以为那未曾生的，就是未见过日光之下恶事的，比这两等人更强。

他被埋葬，好像埋驴一样，要拉出去扔在耶路撒冷的城门之外。”

他们就去葬埋她，只寻得她的头骨和脚，并手掌。

雅各对法老说：“我寄居在世的年日是一百三十岁，我平生的年日又少又苦，不及我列祖在世寄居的年日。”

惟独你被抛弃，不得入你的坟墓，好像可憎的枝子，以被杀的人为衣，就是被刀刺透，坠落坑中石头那里的；你又像被践踏的尸首一样。你不得与君王同葬；因为你败坏你的国，杀戮你的民。“恶人后裔的名，必永不提说。

以利为以利加拿和他的妻祝福，说：“愿耶和华由这妇人再赐你后裔，代替你从耶和华求来的孩子。”他们就回本乡去了。耶和华眷顾哈拿，她就怀孕生了三个儿子，两个女儿。那孩子撒母耳在耶和华面前渐渐长大。

以扫举目看见妇人孩子，就说：“这些和你同行的是谁呢？”雅各说：“这些孩子是神施恩给你的仆人的。”

王便允准如此行。旨意传在书珊，人就把哈曼十个儿子的尸首挂起来了。亚达月十四日，书珊的犹大人又聚集在书珊，杀了三百人，却没有下手夺取财物。

抛散在日头、月亮，和天上众星之下，就是他们从前所喜爱、所侍奉、所随从、所求问、所敬拜的。这些骸骨不再收殓，不再葬埋，必在地面上成为粪土；

亚哈有七十个儿子在撒玛利亚。耶户写信送到撒玛利亚，通知耶斯列的首领，就是长老和教养亚哈众子的人，说：

罗波安娶十八个妻，立六十个妾，生二十八个儿子，六十个女儿；他却爱押沙龙的女儿玛迦，比爱别的妻妾更甚。

人子必要去世，正如经上指着他所写的；但卖人子的人有祸了！那人不生在世上倒好。”

并且他终身在黑暗中吃喝，多有烦恼，又有病患呕气。我所见为善为美的，就是人在神赐他一生的日子吃喝，享受日光之下劳碌得来的好处，因为这是他的份。神赐人资财丰富，使他能以吃用，能取自己的份，在他劳碌中喜乐，这乃是神的恩赐。

愿他们像蜗牛消化过去，又像妇人坠落未见天日的胎。

于是人将哈曼挂在他为末底改所预备的木架上。王的忿怒这才止息。

所以耶和华论到犹大王约雅敬说：他后裔中必没有人坐在大卫的宝座上；他的尸首必被抛弃，白日受炎热，黑夜受寒霜。

耶和华赐我许多儿子，在我儿子中拣选所罗门坐耶和华的国位，治理以色列人。

少年时所生的儿女好像勇士手中的箭。箭袋充满的人便为有福；他们在城门口和仇敌说话的时候，必不至于羞愧。

子孙为老人的冠冕；父亲是儿女的荣耀。

哈曼将他富厚的荣耀、众多的儿女，和王抬举他使他超乎首领臣仆之上，都述说给他们听。
