For to the one who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge, and joy, but to the sinner, he gives the task of amassing wealth– only to give it to the one who pleases God. This task of the wicked is futile– like chasing the wind!

When you gaze upon riches, they are gone, for they surely make wings for themselves, and fly off into the sky like an eagle!

The LORD both kills and gives life; he brings down to the grave and raises up.The LORD impoverishes and makes wealthy; he humbles and he exalts.He lifts the weak from the dust; he raises the poor from the ash heap to seat them with princes and to bestow on them an honored position. Surely people go through life as mere ghosts. Surely they accumulate worthless wealth without knowing who will eventually haul it away.”
