有人塊然獨處、無兄弟子女、不與友朋交接、然亦勞苦不已、雖得貨財、不以為足、不敢自用、不知遺誰、此屬於虛、更貽後患。

有人獨處無子、無兄弟、然亦勞碌不已、雖得多財、目中不以為足、亦不自問曰、我不自享所得、我勞碌究為誰耶、此亦屬於虛、徒勞無益、

There was a man all alone; he had neither son nor brother. There was no end to his toil, yet his eyes were not content with his wealth.“ For whom am I toiling,” he asked,“ and why am I depriving myself of enjoyment?” This too is meaningless— a miserable business!

A man lived all by himself. He didn’t have any sons or brothers. His hard work never ended. But he wasn’t happy with what he had.“ Who am I working so hard for?” he asked.“ Why don’t I get the things I enjoy?” That doesn’t have any meaning either. In fact, it’s a very bad deal!

one person who has no other, either son or brother, yet there is no end to all his toil, and his eyes are never satisfied with riches, so that he never asks,“ For whom am I toiling and depriving myself of pleasure?” This also is vanity and an unhappy business.

This is the case of a man who is all alone, without a child or a brother, yet who works hard to gain as much wealth as he can. But then he asks himself,“ Who am I working for? Why am I giving up so much pleasure now?” It is all so meaningless and depressing.

阴间和死亡填不满，人的眼目永不满足。

凡属世界的，如肉体的私欲、眼目的私欲和今生的骄傲都不是从父那里来的，而是从世界来的。

万事令人厌烦，人述说不尽。眼看，看不饱；耳听，听不够。

我专心用智慧去研究、探索天下各样的事，发现上帝给世人的是极重的苦工。

但上帝对他说，‘无知的人啊，今晚就要取走你的命！你所预备的一切留给谁享用呢？’”

两个人总比一个人好，因为二人劳碌同得美好的成果。一人跌倒，总有同伴相扶。但孤身一人、跌倒了无人相扶的真悲惨！还有，二人同睡会暖和，一人独睡怎能暖和呢？遭遇攻击，一人独自不能抵挡，二人并肩就能对付。三股拧成的绳子不容易断。

那些不断建房置田、占光土地、独居其中的人有祸了！

人生不过是幻影，劳碌奔波却一场空，积蓄财富却不知谁来享用。

贪爱钱财的，金银不能使他满足；贪图富裕的，再多的利益也不能叫他称心。这也是虚空！

耶和华上帝说：“那人独自一人不好，我要为他造一个相配的帮手。”

你们为什么花钱买不能充饥的食物？为什么拿辛苦赚来的钱买不能令人饱足的东西？要留心听我的话，就可以吃美物，享受丰盛的佳肴。

亚伯兰说：“主耶和华啊，你要赐我什么呢？我没有儿子，继承我家业的人是大马士革人以利以谢。”亚伯兰又说：“你没有赐我儿子，我家中的仆人将继承我的产业。”

他们一生充满痛苦，劳碌中尽是愁烦，即使夜间心里也不安宁。这也是虚空。

“所有劳苦困乏、背负重担的人啊，到我这里来吧！我要赐给你们安息。

他们无人思想，无人明白，无人醒悟说：“我用一半木头当柴烤饼、烤肉吃，我岂能用另一半木头造可憎的神像？我岂能向一块木头叩拜？”他们以灰为食，心智迷糊，走入歧途，不能自救，也不会说：“我右手拿的神像不是假的吗？”

皈依耶和华的外族人啊，不要以为耶和华会把你和祂的子民分开，太监也不要觉得自己只是一棵枯树。因为耶和华说：“如果太监遵守我的安息日、做我喜悦的事、持守我的约，我必在我的殿中、墙内赐给他们纪念碑和名号，使他们胜过有儿女的人。我必赐给他们永远不会被除去的名号。

财富会欺骗人，使骄傲之人永不安分，像阴间一样贪得无厌，如死亡一般永不满足。因此，他们征服列国，掳掠万民。“但那些被掳的人必用诗歌和俗语嘲讽他们，说，‘你们有祸了！你们吞没别人的财产，靠剥削别人囤积财富，要到何时呢？’向你们借债的人必突然攻击你们，使你们战战兢兢，成为俘虏。你们从前掳掠许多国家，杀人流血，摧毁他们的土地、城市和人民，所以各国的余民必掠夺你们。“为自己的家积蓄不义之财、在高处搭窝躲避灾祸的人啊，你们有祸了！
