我见人因彼此嫉妒而有一切的劳碌和各样工作的成就，这也是虚空，也是捕风。

我又见人为一切的劳碌和各样灵巧的工作就被邻舍嫉妒。这也是虚空，也是捕风。

我也看到，一切的劳苦和各样工作的技能，都是出于人与邻人之间的嫉妒。这也是虚空，也是捕风！

我又見人為一切的勞碌和各樣靈巧的工作就被鄰舍嫉妒。這也是虛空，也是捕風。

我又看一切勞碌和各樣工作上的技巧都是人對鄰舍羨慕之表現：這也是虛空，也是捕風。

我也看到，一切的勞苦和各樣工作的技能，都是出於人與鄰人之間的嫉妒。這也是虛空，也是捕風！

我見人因勞力、及諸巧工、為鄰所嫉、斯亦虛空、乃為捕風、

我觀世人、勞而得功、同人媢嫉、此亦捕風捉影而已。

我觀世人勞碌經營、皆緣彼此相妒、此亦屬於虛、皆如捕風、

And I saw that all toil and all achievement spring from one person’s envy of another. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.

I also saw that a person works hard and accomplishes a lot. But they do it only because they want what another person has. That doesn’t have any meaning either. It’s like chasing the wind.

Then I saw that all toil and all skill in work come from a man’s envy of his neighbor. This also is vanity and a striving after wind.

Then I observed that most people are motivated to success because they envy their neighbors. But this, too, is meaningless— like chasing the wind.

I saw that all labor and all skillful work is due to one person’s jealousy of another. This too is futile and a pursuit of the wind.

I have seen that every labor and every skill which is done is the result of rivalry between a person and his neighbor. This too is futility and striving after wind.

Again, I saw that for all toil and every skillful work a man is envied by his neighbor. This also is vanity and grasping for the wind.

Then I saw all labor and every skilful work, that for this a man is envied of his neighbor. This also is vanity and a striving after wind.

I saw that all labor and all skillful work is due to a man’s jealousy of his friend. This too is futile and a pursuit of the wind.

Again, I considered all travail, and every right work, that for this a man is envied of his neighbour. This[ is] also vanity and vexation of spirit.

Then I considered all the skillful work that is done: Surely it is nothing more than competition between one person and another. This also is profitless– like chasing the wind.

Then I saw all the labor and achievement that is the envy of a man’s neighbor. This also is vanity and a striving after wind.

我见日光之下所发生的一切事，看哪，全是虚空，全是捕风。

因为有人用智慧、知识、灵巧劳碌工作，所得来的却要遗留给未曾劳碌的人作产业。这也是虚空，大大不幸。

话语多，虚空也增多，这对人有什么益处呢？

扫罗非常愤怒，不喜欢这话。他说：“将万万归给大卫，千千归给我，只剩下王国没有给他！”从这日起，扫罗就敌视大卫。

上帝喜爱谁，就给谁智慧、知识和喜乐；惟有罪人，上帝使他劳苦，将他所储藏、所堆积的归给上帝所喜爱的人。这也是虚空，也是捕风。

亚伯也把他羊群中头生的和羊的脂肪献上。耶和华看中了亚伯和他的供物，却看不中该隐和他的供物。该隐就非常生气，沉下脸来。耶和华对该隐说：“你为什么生气呢？你为什么沉下脸来呢？你若做得对，岂不仰起头来吗？你若做得不对，罪就伏在门前。它想要控制你，你却要制伏它。”该隐与他弟弟亚伯说话。二人正在田间时，该隐起来攻击他弟弟亚伯，把他杀了。

他的百姓，就是他所治理的众人，多得无数；但后来的人还是不喜欢他。这也是虚空，也是捕风。

眼睛所看的比心里妄想的倒好。这也是虚空，也是捕风。

大卫所做的每一件事都精明，耶和华也与他同在。扫罗见大卫做事精明，就更怕他。但以色列和犹大众人都爱大卫，因为他领他们出入。

这是雅各的事迹。约瑟十七岁与他哥哥们一同牧羊。他是个少年，与他父亲的妾辟拉和悉帕的儿子们常在一起。约瑟把他们的恶行报给父亲。以色列爱约瑟过于其他的儿子，因为约瑟是他年老生的；他给约瑟做了一件长袍。哥哥们见父亲爱约瑟过于他们，就恨约瑟，不与他说友善的话。约瑟做了一个梦，告诉他哥哥们，他们就更加恨他。约瑟对他们说：“请听我做的这个梦：看哪，我们在田里捆禾稼；看哪，我的捆起来站着；看哪，你们的捆围着我的捆下拜。”他的哥哥们对他说：“难道你真的要作我们的王吗？难道你真的要统治我们吗？”他们就因他的梦和他的话更加恨他。后来他又做了另一个梦，告诉他哥哥们说：“看哪，我又做了一个梦；看哪，太阳、月亮和十一颗星都向我下拜。”约瑟告诉他父亲和哥哥们，他父亲就责备他说：“你做的这是什么梦！难道我和你母亲、你的兄弟真的要俯伏在地，来向你下拜吗？”他的哥哥们都嫉妒他，他父亲却把这事存在心里。

就更怕大卫，常常与大卫为敌。每逢非利士的军官出来打仗，大卫做事比扫罗任何臣仆更精明，因此他的名极受尊重。

愤怒为残忍，怒气像狂澜，惟有嫉妒，谁能挡得住呢？

总督原知道他们是因为嫉妒才把他解了来。

经上说：“上帝爱安置在我们里面的灵，爱到嫉妒的地步。”你们以为这话是徒然的吗？
