Again, I observed all the acts of oppression being done under the sun. Look at the tears of those who are oppressed; they have no one to comfort them. Power is with those who oppress them; they have no one to comfort them.

我又轉念，見日光之下所行的一切欺壓。看哪，受欺壓的流淚，且無人安慰；欺壓他們的有勢力，也無人安慰他們。

我轉觀日下所行之虐、見受虐者流涕、慰藉無人、行虐者有權、受虐者不得慰藉、

我復思天下之秉鈞者、虐遇民人、民罹其酷、靡不墮淚、慰藉無人。

我復見日下多有冤屈、受屈者流淚、慰之者無人、虐之者勢大、慰之者無人、

Again I looked and saw all the oppression that was taking place under the sun: I saw the tears of the oppressed— and they have no comforter; power was on the side of their oppressors— and they have no comforter.

I looked and saw how much people were suffering on this earth. I saw the tears of those who are suffering. They don’t have anyone to comfort them. Power is on the side of those who treat them badly. Those who are suffering don’t have anyone to comfort them.

Again I saw all the oppressions that are done under the sun. And behold, the tears of the oppressed, and they had no one to comfort them! On the side of their oppressors there was power, and there was no one to comfort them.

So I again considered all the oppression that continually occurs on earth. This is what I saw: The oppressed were in tears, but no one was comforting them; no one delivers them from the power of their oppressors.

Then I returned and saw all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and behold, the tears of those who were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter.

I also observed under the sun: there is wickedness at the place of judgment and there is wickedness at the place of righteousness.

For the vineyard of the Lord of Hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah, the plant He delighted in. He looked for justice but saw injustice, for righteousness, but heard cries of wretchedness.

If you see oppression of the poor and perversion of justice and righteousness in the province, don’t be astonished at the situation, because one official protects another official, and higher officials protect them.

Look! The pay that you withheld from the workers who reaped your fields cries out, and the outcry of the harvesters has reached the ears of the Lord of Hosts.

She weeps aloud during the night, with tears on her cheeks. There is no one to offer her comfort, not one from all her lovers. All her friends have betrayed her; they have become her enemies.

Her uncleanness stains her skirts. She never considered her end. Her downfall was astonishing; there was no one to comfort her. Lord, look on my affliction, for the enemy triumphs!

But all this has happened so that the prophetic Scriptures would be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples deserted Him and ran away.

“ I will come to you in judgment, and I will be ready to witness against sorcerers and adulterers; against those who swear falsely; against those who oppress the widow and the fatherless, and cheat the wage earner; and against those who deny justice to the foreigner. They do not fear Me,” says the Lord of Hosts.

transgression and deception against the Lord, turning away from following our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering lying words from the heart.Justice is turned back, and righteousness stands far off. For truth has stumbled in the public square, and honesty cannot enter.Truth is missing, and whoever turns from evil is plundered. The Lord saw that there was no justice, and He was offended.

Look to the right and see: no one stands up for me; there is no refuge for me; no one cares about me.

No straw has been given to your servants, yet they say to us,‘ Make bricks!’ Look, your servants are being beaten, but it is your own people who are at fault.”But he said,“ You are slackers. Slackers! That is why you are saying,‘ Let us go sacrifice to the Lord.’Now get to work. No straw will be given to you, but you must produce the same quantity of bricks.”The Israelite foremen saw that they were in trouble when they were told,“ You cannot reduce your daily quota of bricks.”

I will say to God, my rock,“ Why have You forgotten me? Why must I go about in sorrow because of the enemy’s oppression?”

Their feet run after evil, and they rush to shed innocent blood. Their thoughts are sinful thoughts; ruin and wretchedness are in their paths.

So the Lord’s anger burned against Israel, and He sold them to the Philistines and the Ammonites.They shattered and crushed the Israelites that year, and for 18 years they did the same to all the Israelites who were on the other side of the Jordan in the land of the Amorites in Gilead.

My tears have been my food day and night, while all day long people say to me,“ Where is your God?”

Without clothing, they spend the night naked, having no covering against the cold.Drenched by mountain rains, they huddle against the rocks, shelterless.The fatherless infant is snatched from the breast; the nursing child of the poor is seized as collateral.Without clothing, they wander about naked. They carry sheaves but go hungry.They crush olives in their presses; they tread the winepresses, but go thirsty.From the city, men groan; the mortally wounded cry for help, yet God pays no attention to this crime.

“ Because of the oppression of the afflicted and the groaning of the poor, I will now rise up,” says the Lord.“ I will put the one who longs for it in a safe place.”

There was a widespread outcry from the people and their wives against their Jewish countrymen.Some were saying,“ We, our sons, and our daughters are numerous. Let us get grain so that we can eat and live.”Others were saying,“ We are mortgaging our fields, vineyards, and homes to get grain during the famine.”Still others were saying,“ We have borrowed money to pay the king’s tax on our fields and vineyards.We and our children are just like our countrymen and their children, yet we are subjecting our sons and daughters to slavery. Some of our daughters are already enslaved, but we are powerless because our fields and vineyards belong to others.”

Insults have broken my heart, and I am in despair. I waited for sympathy, but there was none; for comforters, but found no one.

Surely, the practice of extortion turns a wise person into a fool, and a bribe destroys the mind.

If you were in my place I could also talk like you. I could string words together against you and shake my head at you.

I will put it into the hands of your tormentors, who said to you: Lie down, so we can walk over you. You made your back like the ground, and like a street for those who walk on it.

My enemies taunt me all day long; they ridicule and curse me.I eat ashes like bread and mingle my drinks with tears

Pharaoh then commanded all his people:“ You must throw every son born to the Hebrews into the Nile, but let every daughter live.”

he lurks in secret like a lion in a thicket. He lurks in order to seize the afflicted; he seizes the afflicted and drags him in his net.So he is oppressed and beaten down; the helpless fall because of his strength.

So you will again see the difference between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him.

Then the Israelites cried out to the Lord, because Jabin had 900 iron chariots, and he harshly oppressed them 20 years.

Reconsider; don’t be unjust. Reconsider; my righteousness is still the issue.

They worked the Israelites ruthlesslyand made their lives bitter with difficult labor in brick and mortar and in all kinds of fieldwork. They ruthlessly imposed all this work on them.

All the brothers of a poor man hate him; how much more do his friends keep their distance from him! He may pursue them with words, but they are not there.

And this is another thing you do: you cover the Lord’s altar with tears, with weeping and groaning, because He no longer respects your offerings or receives them gladly from your hands.

“ When you help the Hebrew women give birth, observe them as they deliver. If the child is a son, kill him, but if it’s a daughter, she may live.”

You fed them the bread of tears and gave them a full measure of tears to drink.

Have mercy on me, my friends, have mercy, for God’s hand has struck me.Why do you persecute me as God does? Will you never get enough of my flesh?

People cry out because of severe oppression; they shout for help because of the arm of the mighty.

A wicked ruler over a helpless people is like a roaring lion or a charging bear.A leader who lacks understanding is very oppressive, but one who hates dishonest profit prolongs his life.

A destitute leader who oppresses the poor is like a driving rain that leaves no food.

At my first defense, no one stood by me, but everyone deserted me. May it not be counted against them.But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that the proclamation might be fully made through me and all the Gentiles might hear. So I was rescued from the lion’s mouth.

A people you don’t know will eat your land’s produce and everything you have labored for. You will only be oppressed and crushed continually.

After a long time, the king of Egypt died. The Israelites groaned because of their difficult labor, and they cried out; and their cry for help ascended to God because of the difficult labor.So God heard their groaning, and He remembered His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

you will serve your enemies the Lord will send against you, in famine, thirst, nakedness, and a lack of everything. He will place an iron yoke on your neck until He has destroyed you.
