我见神叫世人劳苦，使他们在其中受经练。

我看神给予世人的担子，是要他们为此烦恼。

我看到神加给世人担子，让他们在其中操劳。

我見人經營勞碌、知皆為天主所定、

I have seen the burden God has laid on the human race.

I’ve seen the heavy load God has put on human beings.

I have seen the business that God has given to the children of man to be busy with.

I have seen the burden God has placed on us all.

I have seen the task that God has given the children of Adam to keep them occupied.

I have seen the task which God has given the sons of mankind with which to occupy themselves.

I have seen the God-given task with which the sons of men are to be occupied.

I have seen the travail which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised therewith.

I have seen the task that God has given people to keep them occupied.

I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.

I have observed the burden that God has given to people to keep them occupied.

I have seen the burden which God has given to the sons of men to be afflicted with.

I applied my mind to study and to explore by wisdom all that is done under the heavens. What a heavy burden God has laid on mankind!I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind. (niv)

By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return.” (niv)

To the person who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness, but to the sinner he gives the task of gathering and storing up wealth to hand it over to the one who pleases God. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind. (niv)

nor did we eat anyone’s food without paying for it. On the contrary, we worked night and day, laboring and toiling so that we would not be a burden to any of you. (niv)
