I amassed silver and gold for myself, and the treasure of kings and provinces. I acquired male and female singers, and a harem as well— the delights of a man’s heart.

I stored up silver and gold for myself. I gathered up the treasures of kings and their kingdoms. I got some male and female singers. I also got many women for myself. Women delight the hearts of men.

I also gathered for myself silver and gold and the treasure of kings and provinces. I got singers, both men and women, and many concubines, the delight of the sons of man.

I collected great sums of silver and gold, the treasure of many kings and provinces. I hired wonderful singers, both men and women, and had many beautiful concubines. I had everything a man could desire!

于是示巴女王把约四千公斤金子、大批香料和宝石送给王；以后奉来的香料再也没有像示巴女王送给所罗门的那么多。

我现在已经八十岁了，还能分别美丑吗？你仆人还能尝出吃喝的味道吗？我还能细听男女歌手的声音吗？你仆人为什么要负累我主我王呢？

他们到达了俄斐，从那里取得黄金约有一万四千公斤，运到所罗门王那里。

所罗门每年收入的金子重两万三千公斤。

所罗门王用锤炼好的金子做了二百面大盾牌，每一面大盾牌用锤炼好的金子七公斤。又用锤炼好的金子做了三百面小盾牌，每一面小盾牌用锤炼好的金子约三公斤；王把这些盾牌都放在黎巴嫩林宫。王用象牙做了一个大宝座，包上纯金。宝座有六级台阶，又用金脚凳和宝座相连，座位两边都有扶手，扶手旁边各有一只狮子站立。六级台阶上共有十二只狮子站立；每级两只，一左一右；在列国中都没有这样做的。所罗门王的一切杯爵都是金的；黎巴嫩林宫里的一切器皿都是精金做的；在所罗门的时代，银子算不得什么。因为王的船只和希兰的仆人一同到他施去；往他施的船只每三年回来一次，载着金银、象牙、猿猴和孔雀回来。

你们闲逸地弹琴奏乐，又为自己制造乐器，像大卫一样。

希兰送给所罗门约有四千公斤金子。

所罗门的一切饮器都是金子做的；黎巴嫩林宫里的一切器皿也都是精金做的，没有用银子做的；原来在所罗门王的时代，银子算不得什么。

要吹角赞美他，要鼓瑟弹琴赞美他。要击鼓跳舞赞美他，要弹奏丝弦的乐器和吹箫赞美他。要用声音洪亮的钹赞美他，要用声音铿锵的钹赞美他。

因此，各国、各族和说各种语言的人，一听见角、笛、琵琶、弦琴、竖琴和各种乐器的声音，就都俯伏，向尼布甲尼撒王所立的金像下拜。

所罗门的儿子罗波安在犹大作王。他登基的时候，是四十一岁；他在耶路撒冷，就是耶和华从以色列各支派中所拣选，在那里立他名的城，作王十七年。他的母亲名叫拿玛，是亚扪人。犹大人行耶和华看为恶的事；他们所犯的罪，惹动他的妒忿比他们的列祖更厉害。

他们叫小孩子出去多如羊群，他们的年轻人四处跳跃；他们跟着琴鼓高歌，又因着箫的声音欢乐。

大卫和军队的领袖，也给亚萨、希幔和耶杜顿的子孙分派了任务，叫他们用琴瑟响钹说预言。他们任职的人数如下：

你们一听见角、笛、琵琶、弦琴、竖琴、风笛和各种乐器的声音，就要俯伏，向尼布甲尼撒王所立的金像下拜。

现在，如果你们想清楚，一听见角、笛、琵琶、弦琴、竖琴、风笛和各种乐器的声音，就俯伏向我所做的像下拜，那还可以。如果你们不下拜，就必立刻扔在烈火的窑中。哪里有神能救你们脱离我的手呢？”

罗波安王做了铜盾牌代替那些金盾牌；交给看守宫门的卫兵队长看管。

此外，还有他们的仆婢七千三百三十七人；又有男女歌唱者二百人。

这些人都归他们的父亲指挥，在耶和华的殿里歌颂，用响钹和琴瑟在神的殿事奉。亚萨、耶杜顿和希幔都是由王指挥的。

王用檀香木为耶和华的殿和王宫作了台阶，又为唱歌的人作了琴瑟；像这样的东西，是在犹大地从来没有见过的。
