你要劝诫那些今世富足的人不要高傲，也不要冀望于靠不住的钱财，要信靠将万物厚赐给我们享用的上帝。

我认识到，人生在世没有什么比欢乐、享受更好。人人都该吃喝、享受自己劳苦的成果，这是上帝的恩赐。

我认为人生最美最善的是，在上帝所赐的短暂岁月中尽情吃喝，享受自己在日光之下劳苦得来的成果。因为这是人当得的。上帝不单给人财富，也叫他能吃能喝，享用自己所当得的，并在劳碌中得到快乐，这都是上帝的恩赐。

去欢欢喜喜、快快乐乐地吃喝吧！因为上帝已经悦纳你所做的。你的衣服要经常保持洁白，头上也不要缺少膏油。在你虚空的人生中，就是在上帝所赐、日光之下虚空的岁月里，你要与爱妻快乐度日，因为这是你一生在日光之下的劳碌中所当得的。

要在你们的上帝耶和华选定的地方，与儿女、仆婢及同城的利未人一起在耶和华面前吃。要为你们所做的一切，在你们的上帝耶和华面前欢喜快乐。

从人的角度看，我在以弗所与那些“恶兽”格斗对我有什么益处呢？如果死人不会复活，“让我们吃喝吧！因为明天我们就死了。”

那时，我就可以对自己说，“你积存这么多财产，一生享用不尽，现在大可高枕无忧、尽情地吃喝玩乐吧！”’但上帝对他说，‘无知的人啊，今晚就要取走你的命！你所预备的一切留给谁享用呢？’”

在那里，你们和儿女、仆婢及同城中没有分到土地作产业的利未人，要一起在你们的上帝耶和华面前欢喜快乐。

却从未停止用美善的事证实自己的存在。祂常施恩惠，降下甘霖，赏赐丰年，又叫你们衣食饱足，满心喜乐。”

上帝赐给人财富和尊荣，叫他拥有所渴望的一切，却使他无法享用，倒让别人享用。这是虚空，是极大的悲哀。

年轻人啊，在年轻时要快乐，要在青春岁月里使自己的心欢畅。心里想做什么就去做，眼睛想看什么就去看。然而，要切记：上帝必照你所行的一切审判你。所以，你要抛开心中的烦恼和肉体的痛苦，因为青春年华转瞬即逝。

万军之耶和华说：“如果你们不听从我的话，也不从内心尊崇我的名，我必使咒诅临到你们，把你们的福气变成咒诅。事实上，因为你们不把我的诫命放在心上，我已经咒诅了你们。

尼希米又说：“你们去吃肥美的肉，喝甘甜的酒，并分些给一无所有的人，因为今天是我们主的圣日。不要悲伤，因为从耶和华而来的喜乐就是你们的力量。”
