其实他一生的日子都是痛苦，他的事务都是烦恼，他的心甚至在夜间也不得安息。这也是虚空！

因为他日日忧虑，他的劳苦成为愁烦，连夜间心也不安。这也是虚空。

終日憂愁、諸事煩惱、其心夜亦不安、此亦屬於虛、

All their days their work is grief and pain; even at night their minds do not rest. This too is meaningless.

As long as they live, their work is nothing but pain and sorrow. Even at night their minds can’t rest. That doesn’t have any meaning either.

For all his days are full of sorrow, and his work is a vexation. Even in the night his heart does not rest. This also is vanity.

Their days of labor are filled with pain and grief; even at night their minds cannot rest. It is all meaningless.

你们早早起来，迟迟安歇，吃劳苦得来的饭，也是枉然；要知道，耶和华必使他所爱的人安睡。

然后，王回到宫中，整夜禁食，不让人给他带来任何娱乐享受，他也睡不着觉。

坚固门徒们的心，鼓励他们持守信仰，说：“我们进入神的国，必须经过很多患难。”

你苦待我们的日子和我们遭害的岁月是怎样，求你使我们的欢喜也怎样。

那天夜里，王睡不着觉，就吩咐人把《编年史》的记录带来，在王面前诵读；

是的，我们因你的怒气而灭亡，因你的怒火而惶恐。你把我们的罪孽摆在你面前，把我们隐藏的事摆在你的容光之中。我们一生的日子都在你的盛怒中消逝，我们度尽的岁月如同一声叹息。我们一生的日子，是七十岁，如果强壮，可到八十岁；但其中可夸耀的，不过是劳苦愁烦，转瞬即逝，我们就如飞而去。

在我患难的日子里，我求问主，夜间我的手伸着祈求，也不倦怠；我的灵魂不肯受安慰。我记念神，大声哀鸣；我默想，就灵里虚弱。细拉你使我不能合眼；我烦乱不安，甚至不能说话。

雅各回答法老：“我在世寄居的年日有一百三十年了；我一生的年日又少又苦，不及我祖先在世寄居的年日。”

我因叹息而困乏；每个夜晚，我的泪水使我的床榻漂浮，使我的床铺浸透。我的眼睛因烦恼而虚弱，因一切的敌人而衰弱。

劳力的人无论吃多吃少，都睡得甜美；富有人的丰足，却不容他安睡。

要知道，智慧增多，烦恼也增多；知识增添，痛苦也增添。
