when the keepers of the house tremble, and the strong men stoop, when the grinders cease because they are few, and those looking through the windows grow dim;

Remember your Creator before those who guard the house tremble with old age. That’s when strong men will be bent over. The women who grind grain will stop because there are so few of them left. Those who look through the windows won’t be able to see very well.

我們一生的日子都在你的震怒中消逝，我們度盡的年歲好像一聲歎息。我們一生的年日是七十歲，如果強壯，可到八十歲，但其中可誇耀的，不過是勞苦愁煩；我們的年日轉眼即逝，我們也如飛而去了。

耶和華在我壯年的時候，使我的力量衰弱，縮短我的年日。

以色列因為年老，眼睛昏花，看不清楚。約瑟領他們到他跟前去，他就與他們親吻，擁抱他們。

非利士人與以色列人又有了戰事。大衛和跟隨他的臣僕一同下去，要與非利士人爭戰；大衛疲倦了。他們住在歌伯。有一個人，是巨人的兒子，他的銅矛有三公斤半重，又佩帶著新刀；他想要擊殺大衛。洗魯雅的兒子亞比篩幫助了大衛；亞比篩擊打那非利士人，把他殺死了。那時，跟隨大衛的人向他起誓說：“以後你不可再與我們一同出去打仗，免得以色列的燈熄滅了。”
