Why?’ asks the LORD who rules over all.‘ Because my temple remains in ruins, thanks to each of you favoring his own house!This is why the sky has held back its dew and the earth its produce.Moreover, I have called for a drought that will affect the fields, the hill country, the grain, new wine, fresh olive oil, and everything that grows from the ground; it also will harm people, animals, and everything they produce.’”

Sow righteousness for yourselves, reap unfailing love. Break up the unplowed ground for yourselves, for it is time to seek the LORD, until he comes and showers deliverance on you.

My point is this: The person who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the person who sows generously will also reap generously.

But I will be different now to this remnant of my people from the way I was in those days,’ says the LORD who rules over all,‘ for there will be a peaceful time of sowing, the vine will produce its fruit and the ground its yield, and the skies will rain down dew. Then I will allow the remnant of my people to possess all these things.

The one who reaps receives pay and gathers fruit for eternal life, so that the one who sows and the one who reaps can rejoice together.For in this instance the saying is true,‘ One sows and another reaps.’I sent you to reap what you did not work for; others have labored and you have entered into their labor.”

I struck all the products of your labor with blight, disease, and hail, and yet you brought nothing to me,’ says the LORD.‘ Think carefully about the past: from today, the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, to the day work on the temple of the LORD was resumed, think about it.The seed is still in the storehouse, isn’t it? And the vine, fig tree, pomegranate, and olive tree have not produced. Nevertheless, from today on I will bless you.’”

What is Apollos, really? Or what is Paul? Servants through whom you came to believe, and each of us in the ministry the Lord gave us.I planted, Apollos watered, but God caused it to grow.So neither the one who plants counts for anything, nor the one who waters, but God who causes the growth.

Whatever you find to do with your hands, do it with all your might, because there is neither work nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom in the grave, the place where you will eventually go.

He also said,“ The kingdom of God is like someone who spreads seed on the ground.He goes to sleep and gets up, night and day, and the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how.By itself the soil produces a crop, first the stalk, then the head, then the full grain in the head.And when the grain is ripe, he sends in the sickle because the harvest has come.”

Preach the message, be ready whether it is convenient or not, reprove, rebuke, exhort with complete patience and instruction.

But there were some men from Cyprus and Cyrene among them who came to Antioch and began to speak to the Greeks too, proclaiming the good news of the Lord Jesus.The hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number who believed turned to the Lord.

So I reflected on all this, attempting to clear it all up. I concluded that the righteous and the wise, as well as their works, are in the hand of God; whether a person will be loved or hated– no one knows what lies ahead.
