The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but the heart of the fool to the left.

The hearts of wise people lead them on the right path. But the hearts of foolish people take them down the wrong path.

A wise man’s heart inclines him to the right, but a fool’s heart to the left.

A wise person chooses the right road; a fool takes the wrong one.

A wise person’s heart goes to the right, but a fool’s heart to the left.

A wise person’s heart directs him toward the right, but the foolish person’s heart directs him toward the left.

A wise man’s heart is at his right hand, But a fool’s heart at his left.

A wise man’s heart is at his right hand; but a fool’s heart at his left.

“ Then he said,‘ This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain.And I’ll say to myself,“ You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.”’“ But God said to him,‘ You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’ (niv)

Why should fools have money in hand to buy wisdom, when they are not able to understand it? (niv)

“ Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it?For if you lay the foundation and are not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule you,saying,‘ This person began to build and wasn’t able to finish.’“ Or suppose a king is about to go to war against another king. Won’t he first sit down and consider whether he is able with ten thousand men to oppose the one coming against him with twenty thousand?If he is not able, he will send a delegation while the other is still a long way off and will ask for terms of peace. (niv)

The wisdom of the prudent is to give thought to their ways, but the folly of fools is deception. (niv)

If the ax is dull and its edge unsharpened, more strength is needed, but skill will bring success. (niv)

Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the realm of the dead, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom. (niv)
