你們當歡喜，當快樂，因為你們在天上的報償是大的。要知道，那些人也這樣逼迫了在你們以前的先知們。

「在挪亞的那些日子裡發生的怎樣，在人子的那些日子裡也將要怎樣：人們繼續吃、喝、嫁、娶，直到挪亞進方舟的那一天，洪水到來，把一切都毀滅了。同樣，就像在羅得的那些日子裡發生的那樣：人們繼續吃喝、買賣、耕種、建造，到了羅得離開所多瑪的那一天，烈火和硫磺就從天而降，把一切都毀滅了。人子顯現的那一天，也將是同樣的。

說：『如果我們活在我們祖先的時代，我們就不會與他們合夥流先知們的血。』這樣，你們就見證了自己是殺害先知們的那些人的後代。你們去充滿你們祖先的惡貫吧！

揚尼和揚布列怎樣抵擋摩西，這些人也照樣抵擋真理；他們理性敗壞，在信仰上經不起考驗。

弟兄們，你們效法了猶太地區在基督耶穌裡屬神的各教會，因為你們也受了自己同胞的苦害，就像他們受了猶太人的苦害那樣。這些猶太人不但殺了主耶穌和先知們，也驅逐了我們，並且不討神的喜悅，又與所有的人作對，阻止我們向外邦人傳道使外邦人得救。這樣，他們常常積滿自己的罪孽，而神的震怒在最後臨到了他們身上！
