Aaron said to them,“ Take off the golden rings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them to me.”All the people took off the golden rings which were in their ears, and brought them to Aaron. He received what they handed him, fashioned it with an engraving tool, and made it a molded calf. Then they said,“ These are your gods, Israel, which brought you up out of the land of Egypt.”When Aaron saw this, he built an altar before it; and Aaron made a proclamation, and said,“ Tomorrow shall be a feast to Yahweh.”
For such a high priest was fitting for us: holy, guiltless, undefiled, separated from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;who doesn’t need, like those high priests, to offer up sacrifices daily, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. For he did this once for all, when he offered up himself. For the law appoints men as high priests who have weakness, but the word of the oath which came after the law appoints a Son forever who has been perfected.
