Do not try to stop me. I am going to destroy them. I will wipe them out from the earth. Then I will make you into a great nation. Your people will be stronger than they were. There will be more of you than there were of them.”

現在，你且由得我，讓我向他們發烈怒，把他們消滅；我要使你成為大國。”摩西就懇求耶和華他的神施恩，說：“耶和華啊，你為甚麼向你的人民發烈怒呢？這人民是你用大能和全能的手從埃及地領出來的。為甚麼讓埃及人議論，說：‘把他們領出來是出於惡意的，要在山上殺死他們，在地上消滅他們’呢？求你回心轉意，不發烈怒；求你改變初衷，不降禍給你的人民。求你記念你的僕人亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各；你曾經指著自己向他們起誓，說：‘我必使你的後裔增多，好像天上的星一樣；我必把我應許的這全地賜給你的後裔，他們必永遠承受這地作產業。’”

願他的後人被除滅，願他們的名字在下一代被塗抹。

義人的名必蒙稱讚，惡人的名字卻必腐朽。

耶和華對我說：“即使摩西和撒母耳站在我面前代求，我的心也不會轉向這人民。你把他們從我面前趕走，叫他們出去！

而他卻在裡面回答：‘不要麻煩我，門已經關好了，孩子也跟我在床上了，我不能起來拿給你。’我告訴你們，即使不因為他是朋友而起來給他，也會因為他厚顏地直求，而起來照他所需要的給他。我又告訴你們，你們祈求，就給你們；尋找，就尋見；叩門，就給你們開門。因為所有祈求的就得著，尋找的就尋見，叩門的就給他開門。

得勝的，也必這樣身穿白衣，我決不從生命冊上塗抹他的名，我還要在我父和他的眾天使面前，承認他的名。

“你們頸項剛硬、心和耳都未受割禮的人哪！你們時常抗拒聖靈，你們的祖先怎樣，你們也怎樣。

現在，如果你肯赦免他們的罪，那就好了；如果不肯，求你從你所寫的冊上把我塗抹吧。”耶和華對摩西說：“誰得罪了我，我就要從我的冊上把誰塗抹。

耶和華對我說：“不要為這人民祈求好處；

耶路撒冷啊！我在你的城牆上設立了守望的人；他們晝夜都不緘默；提耶和華之名的啊！你們不要靜止。你們也不要讓神靜止，直至他建立耶路撒冷，等到他使耶路撒冷在地上成為受人讚美的城。

耶和華對摩西說：“這民藐視我要到幾時呢？我雖然在他們中間行了這些神蹟，他們還是不信我要到幾時呢？我要用瘟疫擊殺他們，除滅他們；我要使你成為大國，比他們還強。”

耶穌對他們講一個比喻，論到人必須常常祈禱，不可灰心。他說：“某城裡有一個法官，不懼怕神，也不尊敬人。那城裡有一個寡婦，常常來到他那裡，說：‘求你給我伸冤，使我脫離我的對頭！’他多次不肯，後來心裡說：‘我雖然不懼怕神，也不尊敬人，只是因為這寡婦常常來麻煩我，就給她伸冤吧，免得她不斷地來纏擾我。’”主說：“你們聽聽這不義的法官所說的話吧。難道神不會為晝夜呼籲他的選民伸冤嗎？難道神會耽誤他們嗎？我告訴你們，他要快快地給他們伸冤。然而人子來的時候，在世上找得到這種信心嗎？”
