I also tried to find meaning by building huge homes for myself and by planting beautiful vineyards.

I will panel it throughout with fragrant cedar and paint it a lovely red.’But a beautiful cedar palace does not make a great king! Your father, Josiah, also had plenty to eat and drink. But he was just and right in all his dealings. That is why God blessed him.

You trample the poor, stealing their grain through taxes and unfair rent. Therefore, though you build beautiful stone houses, you will never live in them. Though you plant lush vineyards, you will never drink wine from them.
