The images of their gods you are to burn in the fire. Do not covet the silver and gold on them, and do not take it for yourselves, or you will be ensnared by it, for it is detestable to the Lord your God.

基甸又對他們說：“我有一個要求：請把你們各人奪得的耳環給我。”原來敵人都戴金耳環，因為他們是以實瑪利人。他們回答：“我們願意給你。”於是鋪開一件外衣，各人把奪得的耳環丟在上面。基甸所要的金耳環，共重約二十公斤金子，此外還有米甸王身上的月牙圈、耳墜和紫紅色的衣服，另外還有駱駝頸項上的鍊子。基甸用這些金子做了一個以弗得，安置在他的城俄弗拉；後來以色列眾人都在那裡隨從以弗得行了邪淫，因此這就成了基甸和他全家的網羅。

妓女所得的酬金，或男妓所得的代價，你不可帶入耶和華你的神的殿裡還任何的願，因為這兩樣都是耶和華你的神厭惡的。

你們卻要這樣待他們：拆毀他們的祭壇，打碎他們的神柱，砍下他們的亞舍拉，用火焚燒他們的雕像。

以色列人在那當毀滅的物上犯了不忠實的罪；因為猶大支派中，謝拉的曾孫、撒底的孫子、迦米的兒子亞干，取了當毀滅的物，耶和華就向以色列人發怒。

耶和華說：“我必除滅人類、牲畜、空中飛鳥、海裡的魚。我必使惡人跌倒，我必把人類從地上剪除。

耶和華你的神交給你的所有民族，你都要把他們消滅；你的眼不可憐惜他們；你也不可事奉他們的神，因為這必成為你的網羅。

但那些想要發財的人，就落在試探中和陷阱裡；又落在許多無知而有害的私慾裡，使人沉淪在敗壞和滅亡中；因為貪財是萬惡之根。有人貪愛錢財，就被引誘離開真道，用許多痛苦把自己刺透了。

她額上寫著一個名號：“奧祕，大巴比倫，地上的淫婦和可憎的物之母。”

你要拋棄你那些包著銀的雕像和鍍了金的鑄像，如同污穢之物一般拋棄它們，又對它們說：“去吧！”
