基甸又对他们说：“我有一个要求：请把你们各人夺得的耳环给我。”原来敌人都戴金耳环，因为他们是以实玛利人。他们回答：“我们愿意给你。”于是铺开一件外衣，各人把夺得的耳环丢在上面。基甸所要的金耳环，共重约二十公斤金子，此外还有米甸王身上的月牙圈、耳坠和紫红色的衣服，另外还有骆驼颈项上的链子。基甸用这些金子做了一个以弗得，安置在他的城俄弗拉；后来以色列众人都在那里随从以弗得行了邪淫，因此这就成了基甸和他全家的网罗。

妓女所得的酬金，或男妓所得的代价，你不可带入耶和华你的神的殿里还任何的愿，因为这两样都是耶和华你的神厌恶的。

你们却要这样待他们：拆毁他们的祭坛，打碎他们的神柱，砍下他们的亚舍拉，用火焚烧他们的雕像。

以色列人在那当毁灭的物上犯了不忠实的罪；因为犹大支派中，谢拉的曾孙、撒底的孙子、迦米的儿子亚干，取了当毁灭的物，耶和华就向以色列人发怒。

耶和华说：“我必除灭人类、牲畜、空中飞鸟、海里的鱼。我必使恶人跌倒，我必把人类从地上剪除。

耶和华你的神交给你的所有民族，你都要把他们消灭；你的眼不可怜惜他们；你也不可事奉他们的神，因为这必成为你的网罗。

但那些想要发财的人，就落在试探中和陷阱里；又落在许多无知而有害的私欲里，使人沉沦在败坏和灭亡中；因为贪财是万恶之根。有人贪爱钱财，就被引诱离开真道，用许多痛苦把自己刺透了。

她额上写着一个名号：“奥秘，大巴比伦，地上的淫妇和可憎的物之母。”

你要抛弃你那些包着银的雕像和镀了金的铸像，如同污秽之物一般抛弃它们，又对它们说：“去吧！”
