你们若留心谨守遵行我所吩咐这一切的诫命，爱耶和华—你们的上帝，遵行他一切的道，紧紧跟随他，

耶和华啊，你曾将你的训词吩咐我们，为要我们切实遵守。

正因这缘故，你们要分外地努力。有了信心，又要加上德行；有了德行，又要加上知识；有了知识，又要加上节制；有了节制，又要加上忍耐；有了忍耐，又要加上虔敬；有了虔敬，又要加上爱弟兄的心；有了爱弟兄的心，又要加上爱众人的心。你们有了这几样，再继续增长，就必使你们在认识我们的主耶稣基督上，不至于懒散和不结果子了。没有这几样的人就是瞎眼，是短视，忘了他过去的罪已经得了洁净。所以，弟兄们，要更加努力，使你们的蒙召和被选坚定不移。你们实行这几样，就永不失脚。

所以，亲爱的，既然你们等候这些事，就要竭力使自己没有玷污，无可指责，在主前和睦；

他说：“你若留心听从耶和华—你上帝的话，行我眼中看为正的事，侧耳听我的诫令，遵守我一切的律例，我就不将所加于埃及人的疾病加在你身上，因为我是医治你的耶和华。”

所以，我亲爱的弟兄们，你们务要坚固，不可动摇，常常竭力多做主工，因为你们知道，你们在主里的劳苦不是徒然的。

“你们若留心听从我今日所吩咐你们的诫命，爱耶和华—你们的上帝，尽心尽性事奉他，

我们盼望你们各人都显出同样的热忱，一直到底，好达成所确信的指望。

“这是耶和华—你们的上帝所吩咐要教导你们的诫命、律例、典章，叫你们在所要过去得为业的地上遵行，好叫你和你的子孙在一生的日子都敬畏耶和华—你的上帝，谨守他的一切律例、诫命，就是我所吩咐你的，使你的日子得以长久。

这话是可信的。我愿你坚持这些事，使那些已信上帝的人留心行善。这都是美好且对人有益的。
