Do not test the Lord your God as you tested Him at Massah.

『你們不可試探永恆主你們的上帝，像你們在瑪撒那樣試探他。

勿試爾上帝耶和華、如昔在瑪撒然、

勿試耶和華爾之上帝、如昔在馬撒然。

勿試主爾之天主、如昔爾試之在瑪撒然、

Do not put the Lord your God to the test as you did at Massah.

Don’t test the Lord your God as you did at Massah.

“ You shall not put the Lord your God to the test, as you tested him at Massah.

You must not test the Lord your God as you did when you complained at Massah.

Do not test the LORD your God as you tested him at Massah.

“ You shall not put the Lord your God to the test, as you tested Him at Massah.

“ You shall not tempt the Lord your God as you tempted Him in Massah.

Ye shall not tempt Jehovah your God, as ye tempted him in Massah.

Ye shall not tempt the LORD your God, as ye tempted[ him] in Massah.

You must not put the LORD your God to the test as you did at Massah.

You shall not tempt Yahweh your God, as you tempted him in Massah.

He named the place Massah and Meribah because the Israelites complained, and because they tested the Lord, saying,“ Is the Lord among us or not?”

And Jesus answered him,“ It is said: Do not test the Lord your God.”

Jesus told him,“ It is also written: Do not test the Lord your God.”

Do not harden your hearts as at Meribah, as on that day at Massah in the wildernesswhere your fathers tested Me; they tried Me, though they had seen what I did.

So the people complained to Moses,“ Give us water to drink.”“ Why are you complaining to me?” Moses replied to them.“ Why are you testing the Lord?”

Let us not test Christ as some of them did and were destroyed by snakes.

Then they set out from Mount Hor by way of the Red Sea to bypass the land of Edom, but the people became impatient because of the journey.The people spoke against God and Moses:“ Why have you led us up from Egypt to die in the wilderness? There is no bread or water, and we detest this wretched food!”

The people quarreled with Moses and said,“ If only we had perished when our brothers perished before the Lord.Why have you brought the Lord’s assembly into this wilderness for us and our livestock to die here?

These are the waters of Meribah, where the Israelites quarreled with the Lord, and He showed His holiness to them.
