for the Lord your God, who is among you, is a jealous God and his anger will burn against you, and he will destroy you from the face of the land.

The Lord your God is among you. He wants you to worship only him. If you worship other gods, God will be very angry with you. And he will destroy you from the face of the land.

for the Lord your God in your midst is a jealous God— lest the anger of the Lord your God be kindled against you, and he destroy you from off the face of the earth.

for the Lord your God, who lives among you, is a jealous God. His anger will flare up against you, and he will wipe you from the face of the earth.

因为耶和华你的神乃是烈火，是忌邪的神。

不可跪拜那些像，也不可侍奉它，因为我耶和华你的神是忌邪的神。恨我的，我必追讨他的罪，自父及子，直到三四代；

因为他必使你儿子转离不跟从主，去侍奉别神，以致耶和华的怒气向你们发作，就速速地将你们灭绝。

耶和华的怒气向你们发作，就使天闭塞不下雨，地也不出产，使你们在耶和华所赐给你们的美地上速速灭亡。

这事叫耶罗波安的家陷在罪里，甚至他的家从地上除灭了。

为什么使埃及人议论说‘他领他们出去，是要降祸与他们，把他们杀在山中，将他们从地上除灭’？求你转意，不发你的烈怒，后悔，不降祸与你的百姓。

主耶和华的眼目察看这有罪的国，必将这国从地上灭绝，却不将雅各家灭绝净尽。”这是耶和华说的。

他们却嘻笑神的使者，藐视他的言语，讥诮他的先知，以致耶和华的忿怒向他的百姓发作，无法可救。

谁晓得你怒气的权势？谁按着你该受的敬畏晓得你的忿怒呢？

在地上万族中，我只认识你们；因此，我必追讨你们的一切罪孽。”

不可跪拜那些像，也不可侍奉它，因为我耶和华你的神是忌邪的神。恨我的，我必追讨他的罪，自父及子，直到三、四代；

当日，耶和华的怒气发作，就起誓说：‘凡从埃及上来、二十岁以外的人断不得看见我对亚伯拉罕、以撒、雅各起誓应许之地，因为他们没有专心跟从我。惟有基尼洗族耶孚尼的儿子迦勒和嫩的儿子约书亚可以看见，因为他们专心跟从我。’耶和华的怒气向以色列人发作，使他们在旷野飘流四十年，等到在耶和华眼前行恶的那一代人都消灭了。谁知，你们起来接续先祖，增添罪人的数目，使耶和华向以色列大发烈怒。你们若退后不跟从他，他还要把以色列人撇在旷野，便是你们使这众民灭亡。”

我们因你的怒气而消灭，因你的忿怒而惊惶。

因为再过七天，我要降雨在地上四十昼夜，把我所造的各种活物都从地上除灭。”

我们可惹主的愤恨吗？我们比他还有能力吗？
