( I stood between Yahweh and you at that time, to show you Yahweh’s word; for you were afraid because of the fire, and didn’t go up onto the mountain) saying,

那么，为什么会有律法呢？律法是为了使人知罪而颁布的，等那位承受应许的后裔来到后，律法的任务就完成了。律法是通过天使交给一位中间人颁布的。

到了第三天早晨，山上雷电大作，乌云密布，又有嘹亮的号角声，营中的百姓都胆战心惊。

那时雷电交加，号角嘹亮，山上冒烟，百姓看见此情景，都吓得浑身颤抖，不敢挨近。他们对摩西说：“求你跟我们说话，我们必听从。不要让上帝直接跟我们说话，恐怕我们会丧命！”摩西对百姓说：“不用害怕，上帝降临是要试验你们，好让你们时时敬畏祂，不致犯罪。”百姓都站得远远的，摩西独自走进上帝所在的密云中。

你们并非来到那座摸得到、有火焰、乌云、黑暗、狂风、号角声和说话声的西奈山，听见这些声音的人都哀求不要再向他们说话了。因为他们承担不了所领受的命令：“即便是动物靠近这山，也要用石头打死它！”那情景实在可怕，就连摩西也说：“我吓得发抖。”但你们现在来到了锡安山，永活上帝的城邑，天上的耶路撒冷，欢聚着千万天使的地方。这里有名字记录在天上的众长子的教会，有审判众人的上帝和已达到纯全的义人的灵魂，还有新约的中保耶稣和祂所流的血。这血比亚伯的血发出更美的信息。

只有你可以靠近我，其他人，包括全体百姓，都不得走近。”摩西下山把耶和华的话和法令都告诉百姓，百姓齐声回答：“我们愿意遵行耶和华的一切吩咐。”

因为基督并非进入了人手所造的圣所，那只是真圣所的缩影，祂是进入了天堂，替我们来到上帝面前。

他们的首领将是自己的同胞，他们的元首将出自本族。他必应我的邀请来到我面前，因为无人敢贸然来到我面前。这是耶和华说的。

你去听听我们上帝耶和华所说的话，然后回来告诉我们，我们必听从、遵行。’

耶和华又让我看见约书亚大祭司站在祂的天使面前，撒旦站在约书亚的右边要控诉他。耶和华对撒旦说：“撒旦啊，耶和华斥责你！拣选耶路撒冷的耶和华斥责你！这人岂不像从火中抽出来的一根柴吗？”那时，约书亚穿着污秽的衣服站在天使面前。天使对侍立在周围的说：“脱掉他污秽的衣服。”他又对约书亚说：“看啊，我已除掉你的罪，我要给你穿上华美的衣服。”我说：“要给他戴上洁净的礼冠。”他们便给他戴上洁净的礼冠、穿上华美的衣服。那时，耶和华的天使站在旁边。

因此祂说要消灭他们。若不是祂所拣选的摩西为他们求情，祂早已在烈怒中毁灭了他们。

其中二人转身向所多玛走去，亚伯拉罕却仍旧站在耶和华面前。

他站在活人和死人中间，瘟疫就止住了。
