「耶路撒冷啊！耶路撒冷啊！你常殺害先知，又用石頭打死派到你那裡的使者。我多次想要招聚你的兒女，像母雞將小雞聚集在翅膀底下，可是你們卻不肯。

「你們要愛你們的上帝耶和華，時刻遵守祂的吩咐、律例、典章和誡命。

說：「今天你若知道那能帶給你平安的事就好了！可惜這事現在是隱藏的，你看不見！

但願我的子民肯聽從我，以色列人肯遵行我的道。那時，我必迅速制伏他們的敵人，伸手攻擊他們的仇敵。憎惡我的人要在我面前屈膝投降，永遠沉淪。

行為正直、遵行耶和華律法的人有福了！遵守祂的法度、全心尋求祂的人有福了！他們不做不義的事，只照祂的旨意而行。耶和華啊，你已經賜下法則，叫我們竭力遵行。我渴望堅定地遵從你的律例。

「『要遵照你的上帝耶和華的吩咐孝敬父母，以便在你的上帝耶和華要賜給你的土地上享長壽，蒙祝福。

我今天將祂的律例和誡命傳授給你們，你們要遵守，以便你們及子孫都蒙福，在你們上帝耶和華所賜的土地上得享長壽。」

如果他們有智慧，就能明白這一切、知道自己的結局。若不是他們的磐石賣掉他們，若不是耶和華拋棄他們，一人怎能趕散他們千人？二人怎能擊潰他們萬人？

你說要為自己建造宏偉的宮殿、寬敞的房間。你安上窗戶，鑲上香柏木，塗上紅漆。難道你大肆使用香柏木就能顯出你做王的氣派嗎？你父親也吃也喝，但他秉公行義，所以他凡事順利；

使你在世上蒙祝福、享長壽。」

身為上帝的同工，我們勸你們不要辜負祂的恩典。

我屢次差遣我的僕人——眾先知警告他們不要再做令我深惡痛絕的事，

你們如果照我的吩咐去做，就是我的朋友。

那些行事公正，持守公義的人有福了。

耶穌回答說：「但那聽了上帝的話又去遵行的人更有福。」

所以我們現在是基督的大使，可以說上帝正藉著我們發出呼求。我們替基督懇求你們：要與上帝和好！

那些洗淨自己衣裳的人有福了！他們有權吃生命樹的果子，也可以從城門進入城中。

以色列人啊，你們要留心聽，謹慎遵行，以便你們在那奶蜜之鄉可以凡事順利、子孫眾多，正如你們祖先的上帝耶和華給你們的應許。

你們可以取走雛鳥，但要放走母鳥。這樣，你們就會凡事順利，得享長壽。

你們要做耶和華視為正與善的事，以便你們可以凡事順利，得到耶和華起誓賜給你們祖先的佳美之地，

但詳細查考那使人得自由的全備律法並且持之以恆的人，不是聽了就忘，而是身體力行，這樣的人必在他所行的事上蒙福。

你們要做耶和華視為正的事——不可吃血，以便你們及子孫凡事順利。

要告訴義人：他們有福了，必得善報。

你僕人從中受到警戒，遵守的人必得大賞賜。

你們要認真聽從我給你們的這些吩咐，做你們的上帝耶和華視為正與善的事，以便你們及子孫凡事順利，直到永遠。

一天，路得的婆婆拿俄米對她說：「我的女兒啊，我實在應該為你找個好歸宿，使你生活幸福。

不可憐憫他，要從以色列除掉這種濫殺無辜的罪，這樣你們才會順利。

你們必須謹慎，切勿拒絕對你們說話的上帝。因為以色列人違背了在地上警戒他們的人，尚且逃脫不了懲罰，何況我們違背從天上警戒我們的上帝呢？
