From heaven he made you hear his voice to discipline you. On earth he showed you his great fire, and you heard his words from out of the fire.

角声越来越响，摩西说话，神以声音回答他。

有哪些百姓听见神在火中说话的声音，像你听见了还能存活呢？

你降临在西奈山，从天上与他们说话，赐给他们正直的典章、真实的律法、美好的律例与诫命，

你们总要谨慎，不可拒绝那向你们说话的，因为那些拒绝了在地上警戒他们的，尚且不能逃罪，何况我们违背那从天上警戒我们的呢？

众百姓见雷轰、闪电、角声、山上冒烟，百姓看见就都战抖，远远站着。他们对摩西说：“请你向我们说话，我们必听；不要让神向我们说话，免得我们死亡。”摩西对百姓说：“不要害怕；因为神降临是要考验你们，要你们敬畏他，不致犯罪。”于是百姓远远站着，但摩西却挨近神所在的幽暗中。耶和华对摩西说：“你要向以色列人这样说：‘你们亲自看见我从天上向你们说话了。

你们不是来到那可触摸的山，那里有火焰、密云、黑暗、暴风、

耶和华的荣耀驻在西奈山，云彩遮盖了山六天，第七天他从云中呼叫摩西。
