夫摩西嘗按手於嫩之子約書亞、感以智神、使之充盈、故以色列族聽從、遵耶和華所諭摩西之命。

耶和華之神賦之、使有智慧、使有謀力、知耶和華之道而寅畏之、

但以理心甚靈慧、王使之綜理、監督州牧、職居宰輔、統轄全土、

我則許爾所求、以智慧之心錫汝、爾之前未有若是、爾之後亦不能若是。

一切睿智識見、皆蓄積隱藏於基督衷、

上帝所遣者、述上帝言、蓋上帝賜之聖神、無限量也、

二人乃以手按眾、咸受聖神、西門見使徒按手、即有聖神之賜、以金獻曰、以此能予我、使我手所按者、亦受聖神、

此數人立使徒前、使徒祈禱、手按之、

對曰、爾所諭者、我悉遵行、爾遣我所至之地、我必前往。昔我聽從摩西、今聽從爾、惟願爾之上帝耶和華佑爾、如佑摩西然。凡逆爾命、不遵爾所諭者、必死毋赦、宜強乃志、壯乃心。

先知之徒、在耶利哥、見此則曰、以利亞所感之神、臨格以利沙。遂迓之、俯伏於地、

我將臨格、偕爾晤言、取爾所感之神、賦之於彼使同任民事、免爾獨勞。

勿遽按手、任人為會執事、勿與人共罪、惟潔是務、

孰能聽訟於斯眾之間乎、故祈爾使僕聰慧、可辨是非、為民折中。

以我神感之、使有聰明智慧、能知工巧、

耶和華諭摩西曰嫩之子約書亞、其人感於神、汝可簡取、按手其上、置於祭司以利亞撒及會眾前、付托以命、以汝尊榮、加諸其身、使以色列會眾、無不遵循、彼必立於祭司、以利亞撒前、以利亞撒用烏陵、諮諏我意、彼及以色列會眾、必聽斯命而出入。摩西簡約書亞立於祭司以利亞撒、及會眾前、按手其上、以命托之、遵耶和華命焉。

既過、以利亞謂以利沙曰、我未與爾相離之際、爾欲我何為、求無不得。以利沙曰、我欲爾所感之神、降臨於我、較爾維倍。

昔有預言及爾者、長老按手、錫爾恩賜、切勿自棄、
