Moses said this about the tribe of Levi:“ O Lord, you have given your Thummim and Urim— the sacred lots— to your faithful servants the Levites. You put them to the test at Massah and struggled with them at the waters of Meribah.

省長大人便告訴他們不可喫至聖之物，要等到有能用烏陵土明來決疑的祭司立起來。

除了祭司和供職的利未人以外、任何人都不可進永恆主的殿；這些人可以進去，因為他們聖別；眾民總要遵守永恆主所吩咐守的。

掃羅求問永恆主，永恆主卻沒有藉着夢，沒有藉着烏陵，也沒有藉着神言人而回答他。

他們不可娶妓女或被污辱的女人為妻，也不可娶被丈夫離婚的女人為妻；因為祭司是成聖別歸他的上帝的。

這樣的大祭司、虔聖、無邪、無染污、隔離罪人、高過諸天、正合乎我們所需要的。

『你要用淨金作一面牌，上面按刻印章的方法刻着：「成聖別歸永恆主」。

省長大人便告訴他們不可喫至聖之物，要等到有能用烏陵土明來決疑的祭司立起來。

因為你不將我撇棄於陰間，也不給你堅貞之士見冥坑。

你在急難中呼求，我便救拔你；我在雷轟的隱密處應了你，在米利巴水的事上試驗了你。（細拉）

『你要寫信給在非拉鐵非的教會的使者說：『「那聖而真的、那執有大衛的鑰匙、開了就沒有人能關、關了就沒有人能開的、這麼說：

我對他們說：『你們歸永恆主為聖，器皿也要為聖；金銀是人自願獻的禮物、奉給永恆主你們列祖之上帝的。

告訴可拉和他一黨的人說：『到了早晨，永恆主就要使人知道誰是屬他的、誰是分別為聖的、就叫誰親近他；他揀選誰，就叫誰親近他。

在曠野、他將你列祖所不認識的嗎哪賜給你喫，都是要使你受苦，要試驗你，使你終久得好處；

你要記得、這四十年在曠野、永恆主你的上帝一路引領你，是要使你受苦、是要試驗你，要知道你心裏怎樣、肯守他的誡命不肯。他使你受苦，任你饑餓，將你和你列祖所不認識的嗎哪賜給你喫，使你知道人活着、不是單靠着食物，人活着、乃是靠着永恆主口裏所出的一切話。
