For it[ is] not a vain thing for you; because it[ is] your life: and through this thing ye shall prolong[ your] days in the land, whither ye go over Jordan to possess it.

此事於爾、所關非淺、乃爾之生命、由此得以延年、於渡約但而得之地、○

此非淺鮮、乃爾生命所關、因是爾可於約但西所據之地、而享遐齡。

此事非虛、非不關爾者、乃爾之生命、爾將渡約但以得地為業、亦可緣此久居於彼、○

They are not just idle words for you— they are your life. By them you will live long in the land you are crossing the Jordan to possess.”

They aren’t just useless words for you. They are your very life. If you obey them, you will live in the land for a long time. It’s the land you are going across the Jordan River to take as your own.”

For it is no empty word for you, but your very life, and by this word you shall live long in the land that you are going over the Jordan to possess.”

These instructions are not empty words— they are your life! By obeying them you will enjoy a long life in the land you will occupy when you cross the Jordan River.”

For it is not a trivial matter for you; indeed it is your life. And by this word you will prolong your days in the land, which you are about to cross the Jordan to possess.”

For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.For the eyes of the Lord[ are] over the righteous, and his ears[ are open] unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord[ is] against them that do evil.

She[ is] a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy[ is every one] that retaineth her.

But godliness with contentment is great gain.For we brought nothing into[ this] world,[ and it is] certain we can carry nothing out.And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.

For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven?( that is, to bring Christ down[ from above]:)

I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth: I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain: I the LORD speak righteousness, I declare things that are right.
