But to this day the Lord has not given you a mind that understands or eyes that see or ears that hear.

But to this day the Lord has not given you a heart to understand or eyes to see or ears to hear.

But to this day the Lord has not given you minds that understand, nor eyes that see, nor ears that hear!

Yet to this day the LORD has not given you a mind to understand, eyes to see, or ears to hear.

能聽的耳朵和能看的眼睛，兩樣都是耶和華所造的。

他說：“你去告訴這子民，說：‘你們聽了又聽，卻不明白；看了又看，卻不曉得。’你要使這子民的心思遲鈍（“遲鈍”直譯是“蒙脂油”），耳朵不靈，眼睛昏暗，免得他們眼睛看見，耳朵聽見，心裡明白，回轉過來，得到醫治。”

他們的心思昏昧，因為自己無知，心裡剛硬，就與神所賜的生命隔絕了。

耶和華啊！你為甚麼使我們走錯，離開你的道路？使我們的心剛硬，不敬畏你呢？求你為你眾僕人的緣故，為你產業的各支派的緣故，回心轉意吧！

你們為甚麼不明白我的話呢？因為我的道你們聽不進去。

但是希實本王西宏不肯讓我們從他那裡經過，因為耶和華我們的神使他的心意頑固，使他的心剛硬，為要把他交在你的手裡，像今日一樣。

“‘我必把新心賜給你們，把新靈放在你們裡面；我必從你們的肉體中除去石心，把肉心賜給你們。

這是要應驗以賽亞先知所說的話：“主啊，我們所傳的，有誰信呢？主的膀臂向誰顯露呢？”他們不能相信，因為以賽亞又說：“神使他們瞎了眼，硬了心，免得他們眼睛看見，心裡明白而回轉過來；我就醫好他們。”

並且在那些沉淪的人身上，行各樣不義的欺詐，因為他們不領受愛真理的心，使他們得救。因此，神就使錯謬的思想運行在他們當中，讓他們相信虛謊，叫所有不信真理倒喜愛不義的人，都被定罪。

可是直到今日，他們每逢誦讀摩西的書的時候，這帕子還蓋在他們的心上。

他回答：“天國的奧祕，只給你們知道，卻不給他們知道。因為凡是有的，還要給他，他就充足有餘；凡是沒有的，就連他有甚麼也要拿去。因此，我用比喻對他們講話，因為他們看卻看不見，聽也聽不到，也不明白。以賽亞的預言，正應驗在他們身上，他說：‘你們聽是聽見了，總是不明白；看是看見了，總是不領悟。因為這人民的心思遲鈍，用不靈的耳朵去聽，又閉上了眼睛；免得自己眼睛看見，耳朵聽見，心裡明白，回轉過來，我就醫好他們。’

他說：‘你去告訴這人民：你們聽是聽見了，總是不明白；看是看見了，總是不領悟。因為這人民的心思遲鈍，用不靈的耳朵去聽，又閉上了眼睛；免得自己眼睛看見，耳朵聽見，心裡明白，回轉過來，我就醫好他們。’

那又怎麼樣呢？以色列人懇切尋找的，他們沒有得到，蒙揀選的人倒得著了。其餘的人都成了頑固的，正如經上所記：“神給了他們麻木的靈，有眼睛卻看不見，有耳朵卻聽不到，直到今日。”大衛也說：“願他們的筵席成為他們的網羅、陷阱、絆腳石和報應；願他們的眼睛昏暗，不能看見；願他們的背脊常常彎曲。”

人被試探，不可說“我被神試探”；因為神不能被惡試探，他也不試探任何人。每一個人受試探，都是被自己的私慾所勾引誘惑的。私慾懷了胎，就生出罪；罪長成了，就產生死亡。我親愛的弟兄們，不要看錯了。各樣美好的賞賜，各樣完備的恩賜，都是從上面、從眾光之父降下來的，他本身並沒有改變，也沒有轉動的影子。

以溫柔勸導那些對抗的人，或許神給他們悔改的心，可以認識真理。
