恐怕你們中間有男人或女人，家族或支派，今日心裡偏離了耶和華我們的神，去事奉那些國的神，又恐怕你們中間有惡根，生出毒草和苦堇來；

Make sure there is no man or woman, clan or tribe among you today whose heart turns away from the Lord our God to go and worship the gods of those nations; make sure there is no root among you that produces such bitter poison.

Make sure there isn’t a man or woman among your families or tribes who turns away from the Lord our God. No one must worship the gods of those nations. Make sure that kind of worship doesn’t spread like bitter poison through your whole community.

Beware lest there be among you a man or woman or clan or tribe whose heart is turning away today from the Lord our God to go and serve the gods of those nations. Beware lest there be among you a root bearing poisonous and bitter fruit,

I am making this covenant with you so that no one among you— no man, woman, clan, or tribe— will turn away from the Lord our God to worship these gods of other nations, and so that no root among you bears bitter and poisonous fruit.

Be sure there is no man, woman, clan, or tribe among you today whose heart turns away from the LORD our God to go and worship the gods of those nations. Be sure there is no root among you bearing poisonous and bitter fruit.

Beware that the heart of no man, woman, clan, or tribe among you turns away from the LORD our God today to pursue and serve the gods of those nations; beware that there is among you no root producing poisonous and bitter fruit.

lest there should be among you man, woman, family, or tribe whose heart turns away today from Yahweh our God, to go to serve the gods of those nations; lest there should be among you a root that produces bitter poison;

你們要小心，免得有人失去了神的恩典；免得有苦根長起來纏繞你們，因而污染了許多人；

你們要謹慎，免得你們的心受迷惑，你們就偏離了我，去事奉別的神，並且敬拜它們；叫耶和華的怒氣向你發作，就把天封閉，不降下雨水，地也不生出土產，使你們從耶和華賜給你們的美地上，快快地滅亡。

“你們中間如果有先知，或作夢的人興起來，給你顯示神蹟或奇事；（本節在《馬索拉文本》為13:2）他告訴你的神蹟和奇事應驗了，以致他對你說：‘我們去隨從別的、你不認識的神，事奉他們吧。’你不可聽從那先知或作夢的人的話；因為耶和華你們的神試驗你們，要知道你們是不是一心一意愛耶和華你們的神。你們要順從耶和華你們的神，敬畏他，遵守他的誡命，聽從他的話，事奉他，緊靠他。至於那先知，或作夢的人，你們要把他處死，因為他說了叛逆的話，叛逆了那領你們出埃及地，救贖你脫離為奴之家的耶和華你們的神，要你離棄耶和華你的神吩咐你走的道路。這樣你就把那惡從你們中間除掉了。“你的同母兄弟或你的兒女，你懷中的妻子或視你如自己性命的朋友，如果暗中引誘你，說：‘我們去事奉別的神吧。’就是你和你的列祖向來不認識的，是你們周圍各族的神，無論是離你近的，或是離你遠的神；從地這邊直到地那邊的神，你都不可依從他，也不可聽從他；你的眼不可顧惜他，你不可憐憫他，也不可袒護他；總要把他殺死，你要先向他動手，然後全民才動手打死他。你要用石頭打死他，因為他要使你離棄那領你出埃及地，脫離為奴之家的耶和華你的神。這樣，全以色列聽見了，必然害怕，就不會再在你們中間行這樣的惡了。“在耶和華你的神賜給你居住的一座城中，如果你聽說有些匪徒從你中間出來，把本城的居民引離，說：‘我們去事奉別的神吧。’那些神是你們素來不認識的；你就要調查、研究，仔細訪問，如果的確有這可厭惡的事行在你們中間，你就要用刀劍把那城裡的居民殺掉，把那城和城裡的一切，以及牲畜，都用刀劍完全毀滅。

因此，萬軍之耶和華以色列的神這樣說：“看哪！我要使這人民吃苦堇，喝毒水。

馬會在懸崖奔馳嗎？人會用牛耙海嗎？（譯文是根據對原文字母不同的劃分；《馬索拉抄本》直譯作“人會用牛耙地嗎？”）但你使公正變為毒草，使公義的果子轉為苦堇。

弟兄們，你們要小心，免得你們中間有人存著邪惡、不信的心，以致離棄了永活的神；

我看出你正在苦膽之中，邪惡捆綁著你。”

“在你中間，就是耶和華你的神賜給你的任何一座城裡，如果發現有人，無論是男是女，行耶和華你的神眼中看為惡的事，違犯了他的約，去事奉別的神，並且敬拜它們，敬拜太陽或月亮，或任何天象，是我耶和華沒有吩咐的；有人告訴你，你也聽見了，就要好好調查；如果確有這些事，真的在以色列中行了這可憎可厭的事；你就要把那個行了這惡事的男人或女人帶出來，到城門那裡去，用石頭把他們打死。憑著兩個或三個見證人的口供，就可以把那該死的人處死；只是憑著一個見證人的口供，卻不可以把人處死。見證人要先下手，然後眾民也下手，把他處死。這樣，你就把那惡從你中間除掉。

他們說很多話，起假誓，又立盟約；所以審判像毒草一般在田間的犁溝中生長起來。
