此約之立、以免爾中男女、宗族支派、今日中心違棄我上帝耶和華、往事斯族之神、致有荼毒之根、生於爾中、

Make sure there is no man or woman, clan or tribe among you today whose heart turns away from the Lord our God to go and worship the gods of those nations; make sure there is no root among you that produces such bitter poison.

Make sure there isn’t a man or woman among your families or tribes who turns away from the Lord our God. No one must worship the gods of those nations. Make sure that kind of worship doesn’t spread like bitter poison through your whole community.

Beware lest there be among you a man or woman or clan or tribe whose heart is turning away today from the Lord our God to go and serve the gods of those nations. Beware lest there be among you a root bearing poisonous and bitter fruit,

I am making this covenant with you so that no one among you— no man, woman, clan, or tribe— will turn away from the Lord our God to worship these gods of other nations, and so that no root among you bears bitter and poisonous fruit.

Be sure there is no man, woman, clan, or tribe among you today whose heart turns away from the LORD our God to go and worship the gods of those nations. Be sure there is no root among you bearing poisonous and bitter fruit.

lest there should be among you man, woman, family, or tribe whose heart turns away today from Yahweh our God, to go to serve the gods of those nations; lest there should be among you a root that produces bitter poison;

你们要小心，免得有人失去了神的恩典；免得有苦根长起来缠绕你们，因而污染了许多人；

你们要谨慎，免得你们的心受迷惑，你们就偏离了我，去事奉别的神，并且敬拜它们；叫耶和华的怒气向你发作，就把天封闭，不降下雨水，地也不生出土产，使你们从耶和华赐给你们的美地上，快快地灭亡。

“你们中间如果有先知，或作梦的人兴起来，给你显示神迹或奇事；（本节在《马索拉文本》为13:2）他告诉你的神迹和奇事应验了，以致他对你说：‘我们去随从别的、你不认识的神，事奉他们吧。’你不可听从那先知或作梦的人的话；因为耶和华你们的神试验你们，要知道你们是不是一心一意爱耶和华你们的神。你们要顺从耶和华你们的神，敬畏他，遵守他的诫命，听从他的话，事奉他，紧靠他。至于那先知，或作梦的人，你们要把他处死，因为他说了叛逆的话，叛逆了那领你们出埃及地，救赎你脱离为奴之家的耶和华你们的神，要你离弃耶和华你的神吩咐你走的道路。这样你就把那恶从你们中间除掉了。“你的同母兄弟或你的儿女，你怀中的妻子或视你如自己性命的朋友，如果暗中引诱你，说：‘我们去事奉别的神吧。’就是你和你的列祖向来不认识的，是你们周围各族的神，无论是离你近的，或是离你远的神；从地这边直到地那边的神，你都不可依从他，也不可听从他；你的眼不可顾惜他，你不可怜悯他，也不可袒护他；总要把他杀死，你要先向他动手，然后全民才动手打死他。你要用石头打死他，因为他要使你离弃那领你出埃及地，脱离为奴之家的耶和华你的神。这样，全以色列听见了，必然害怕，就不会再在你们中间行这样的恶了。“在耶和华你的神赐给你居住的一座城中，如果你听说有些匪徒从你中间出来，把本城的居民引离，说：‘我们去事奉别的神吧。’那些神是你们素来不认识的；你就要调查、研究，仔细访问，如果的确有这可厌恶的事行在你们中间，你就要用刀剑把那城里的居民杀掉，把那城和城里的一切，以及牲畜，都用刀剑完全毁灭。

因此，万军之耶和华以色列的神这样说：“看哪！我要使这人民吃苦堇，喝毒水。

马会在悬崖奔驰吗？人会用牛耙海吗？（译文是根据对原文字母不同的划分；《马索拉文本》直译作“人会用牛耙地吗？”）但你使公正变为毒草，使公义的果子转为苦堇。

弟兄们，你们要小心，免得你们中间有人存着邪恶、不信的心，以致离弃了永活的神；

我看出你正在苦胆之中，邪恶捆绑着你。”

“在你中间，就是耶和华你的神赐给你的任何一座城里，如果发现有人，无论是男是女，行耶和华你的神眼中看为恶的事，违犯了他的约，去事奉别的神，并且敬拜它们，敬拜太阳或月亮，或任何天象，是我耶和华没有吩咐的；有人告诉你，你也听见了，就要好好调查；如果确有这些事，真的在以色列中行了这可憎可厌的事；你就要把那个行了这恶事的男人或女人带出来，到城门那里去，用石头把他们打死。凭着两个或三个见证人的口供，就可以把那该死的人处死；只是凭着一个见证人的口供，却不可以把人处死。见证人要先下手，然后众民也下手，把他处死。这样，你就把那恶从你中间除掉。

他们说很多话，起假誓，又立盟约；所以审判像毒草一般在田间的犁沟中生长起来。
