The Lord will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction but flee from you in seven.

Enemies will rise up against you. But the Lord will help you win the battle over them. They will come at you from one direction. But they’ll run away from you in every direction.

“ The Lord will conquer your enemies when they attack you. They will attack you from one direction, but they will scatter from you in seven!

“ The LORD will cause the enemies who rise up against you to be defeated before you. They will march out against you from one direction but flee from you in seven directions.

There were more who died because of the hailstones than the sons of Israel killed with the sword.

Zerah the Ethiopian came out against them with an army of a million men and 300 chariots, and came as far as Mareshah.And Asa went out to meet him, and they drew up their lines of battle in the Valley of Zephathah at Mareshah.And Asa cried to the Lord his God,“ O Lord, there is none like you to help, between the mighty and the weak. Help us, O Lord our God, for we rely on you, and in your name we have come against this multitude. O Lord, you are our God; let not man prevail against you.”So the Lord defeated the Ethiopians before Asa and before Judah, and the Ethiopians fled.Asa and the people who were with him pursued them as far as Gerar, and the Ethiopians fell until none remained alive, for they were broken before the Lord and his army. The men of Judah carried away very much spoil.And they attacked all the cities around Gerar, for the fear of the Lord was upon them. They plundered all the cities, for there was much plunder in them.And they struck down the tents of those who had livestock and carried away sheep in abundance and camels. Then they returned to Jerusalem.

How could one have chased a thousand, and two have put ten thousand to flight, unless their Rock had sold them, and the Lord had given them up?

And Joshua captured all these kings and their land at one time, because the Lord God of Israel fought for Israel.

“ The Lord will cause you to be defeated before your enemies. You shall go out one way against them and flee seven ways before them. And you shall be a horror to all the kingdoms of the earth.

And Asa did what was good and right in the eyes of the Lord his God.He took away the foreign altars and the high places and broke down the pillars and cut down the Asherimand commanded Judah to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, and to keep the law and the commandment.He also took out of all the cities of Judah the high places and the incense altars. And the kingdom had rest under him.He built fortified cities in Judah, for the land had rest. He had no war in those years, for the Lord gave him peace.

And Samuel said to all the house of Israel,“ If you are returning to the Lord with all your heart, then put away the foreign gods and the Ashtaroth from among you and direct your heart to the Lord and serve him only, and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.”So the people of Israel put away the Baals and the Ashtaroth, and they served the Lord only.

And when they began to sing and praise, the Lord set an ambush against the men of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah, so that they were routed.For the men of Ammon and Moab rose against the inhabitants of Mount Seir, devoting them to destruction, and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, they all helped to destroy one another.When Judah came to the watchtower of the wilderness, they looked toward the horde, and behold, there were dead bodies lying on the ground; none had escaped.When Jehoshaphat and his people came to take their spoil, they found among them, in great numbers, goods, clothing, and precious things, which they took for themselves until they could carry no more. They were three days in taking the spoil, it was so much.
