三十畝葡萄園只產二十升酒，二百公斤種子只產二十公斤糧食。」

那將是烏雲密佈、天昏地暗的日子。來了一支空前絕後、強盛無比的蝗蟲大軍，牠們像曙光一樣佈滿山頭。牠們的前隊如火燎原，後隊如熊熊烈焰。牠們未到以前，大地美得像伊甸園；牠們過去之後，大地變成一片荒場，地上的一切都逃不過這一場浩劫。牠們的形狀像馬，快速奔馳如戰馬，

以色列人啊，你們忘記了拯救你們的上帝，不記得那保護你們的磐石。所以，你們雖然栽種佳美的秧子，插上遠方運來的樹苗，使它們在栽種的當天早上就生長開花，也必一無所獲。你們得到的只是艱難和無盡的痛苦。

第二天黎明的時候，上帝卻安排了一條蟲來咬這棵蓖麻，蓖麻就枯萎了。
