At midday you will grope about like a blind person in the dark. You will be unsuccessful in everything you do; day after day you will be oppressed and robbed, with no one to rescue you.

Even at noon you will have to feel your way around like a blind person in the dark. You won’t have success in anything you do. Day after day you will be robbed and treated badly. No one will be able to save you.

and you shall grope at noonday, as the blind grope in darkness, and you shall not prosper in your ways. And you shall be only oppressed and robbed continually, and there shall be no one to help you.

You will grope around in broad daylight like a blind person groping in the darkness, but you will not find your way. You will be oppressed and robbed continually, and no one will come to save you.

以色列人又行耶和華眼中看為惡的事，耶和華就把他們交在米甸人手裏七年。米甸人壓制以色列人；以色列人因為米甸人，就在山中挖穴、挖洞、建造營寨。以色列人每逢撒種之後，米甸人、亞瑪力人，和東方人都上來攻打他們，對着他們安營，毀壞土產，直到迦薩，沒有給以色列人留下食物，牛、羊、驢也沒有留下；因為那些人帶着牲畜帳棚來，像蝗蟲那樣多，人和駱駝無數，都進入國內，毀壞全地。以色列人因米甸人的緣故，極其窮乏，就呼求耶和華。 (cunpt)

於是以色列人服事摩押王伊磯倫十八年。 (cunpt)

從那年起，他們擾害欺壓約旦河那邊、住亞摩利人之基列地的以色列人，共有十八年。 (cunpt)

所以，耶和華的怒氣向他的百姓發作，憎惡他的產業，將他們交在外邦人的手裏；恨他們的人就轄制他們。他們的仇敵也欺壓他們，他們就伏在敵人手下。 (cunpt)

這地許多出產歸了列王，就是你因我們的罪所派轄制我們的。他們任意轄制我們的身體和牲畜，我們遭了大難。」 (cunpt)

如果我們的福音蒙蔽，就是蒙蔽在滅亡的人身上。此等不信之人被這世界的神弄瞎了心眼，不叫基督榮耀福音的光照着他們。基督本是神的像。 (cunpt)

那時，以色列全地沒有一個鐵匠；因為非利士人說，恐怕希伯來人製造刀槍。以色列人要磨鋤、犂、斧、鏟，就下到非利士人那裏去磨。但有銼可以銼鏟、犂、三齒叉、斧子，並趕牛錐。所以到了爭戰的日子，跟隨掃羅和約拿單的人沒有一個手裏有刀有槍的，惟獨掃羅和他兒子約拿單有。 (cunpt)

非利士人聚集，要與以色列人爭戰，有車三萬輛，馬兵六千，步兵像海邊的沙那樣多，就上來在伯‧亞文東邊的密抹安營。以色列百姓見自己危急窘迫，就藏在山洞、叢林、石穴、隱密處，和坑中。有些希伯來人過了約旦河，逃到迦得和基列地。掃羅還是在吉甲，百姓都戰戰兢兢地跟隨他。 (cunpt)

他們無光，在黑暗中摸索，又使他們東倒西歪，像醉酒的人一樣。 (cunpt)

「然而，他們不順從，竟背叛你，將你的律法丟在背後，殺害那勸他們歸向你的眾先知，大大惹動你的怒氣。所以你將他們交在敵人的手中，磨難他們。他們遭難的時候哀求你，你就從天上垂聽，照你的大憐憫賜給他們拯救者，救他們脫離敵人的手。但他們得平安之後，又在你面前行惡，所以你丟棄他們在仇敵的手中，使仇敵轄制他們。然而他們轉回哀求你，你仍從天上垂聽，屢次照你的憐憫拯救他們，又警戒他們，要使他們歸服你的律法。他們卻行事狂傲，不聽從你的誡命，干犯你的典章（人若遵行就必因此活着），扭轉肩頭，硬着頸項，不肯聽從。 (cunpt)

這是怎麼樣呢？以色列人所求的，他們沒有得着。惟有蒙揀選的人得着了；其餘的就成了頑梗不化的。如經上所記：神給他們昏迷的心，眼睛不能看見，耳朵不能聽見，直到今日。大衛也說：願他們的筵席變為網羅，變為機檻，變為絆腳石，作他們的報應。願他們的眼睛昏矇，不得看見；願你時常彎下他們的腰。 (cunpt)

你帶他們去，與他們一同行潔淨的禮，替他們拿出規費，叫他們得以剃頭。這樣，眾人就可知道，先前所聽見你的事都是虛的；並可知道，你自己為人，循規蹈矩，遵行律法。 (cunpt)
