“你們從前不是子民，現在卻是神的子民；從前未蒙憐恤，現在卻蒙了憐恤。”親愛的，我勸你們作客旅和寄居的人，要禁戒肉體的私慾，這私慾是與靈魂爭戰的。

你們不知道不義的人不能承受神的國嗎？不要自欺，無論是行淫亂的、拜偶像的、姦淫的、作孌童的、親男色的、偷竊的、貪心的、醉酒的、辱罵人的或勒索的，都不能承受神的國。你們有些人從前也是這樣的，但現在藉著我們主耶穌基督的名，靠著我們神的靈，都已經洗淨了，聖潔了，稱義了。

你們從前是黑暗的，現今在主裡卻是光明的，行事為人就應當像光明的兒女。光明所結的果子，就是一切良善、公義、誠實。

感謝神，你們雖然作過罪的奴僕，現在卻從心裡順從了傳授給你們的教義的規範。你們既然從罪裡得了釋放，就作了義的奴僕。

“耶和華你的神今日吩咐你遵行這些律例和典章，所以你要一心一意謹守遵行。你今日承認了耶和華是你的神，要遵行他的道，謹守他的律例、誡命和典章，聽從他的話。耶和華今日照著他應許你的，也承認了你是他珍貴的子民，使你謹守他的一切誡命；

現在你們既然從罪裡得了釋放，作了神的奴僕，就有成聖的果子，那結局就是永生。
