“ Cursed is anyone who dishonors their father or mother.” Then all the people shall say,“ Amen!”

“ May anyone who brings shame on their father or mother be under the Lord’ s curse.” Then all the people will say,“ Amen!”

‘ The one who dishonors his father or mother is cursed.’ And all the people will say,‘ Amen!’

‘ Cursed is one who treats his father or mother contemptuously.’ And all the people shall say,‘ Amen.’

‘ Cursed is the one who treats his father or his mother with contempt.’“ And all the people shall say,‘ Amen!’

Cursed be he that setteth light by his father or his mother. And all the people shall say, Amen.

“ Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you. (niv)

If someone has a stubborn and rebellious son who does not obey his father and mother and will not listen to them when they discipline him,his father and mother shall take hold of him and bring him to the elders at the gate of his town.They shall say to the elders,“ This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious. He will not obey us. He is a glutton and a drunkard.”Then all the men of his town are to stone him to death. You must purge the evil from among you. All Israel will hear of it and be afraid. (niv)

In you they have treated father and mother with contempt; in you they have oppressed the foreigner and mistreated the fatherless and the widow. (niv)

“ There are those who curse their fathers and do not bless their mothers;those who are pure in their own eyes and yet are not cleansed of their filth;those whose eyes are ever so haughty, whose glances are so disdainful;those whose teeth are swords and whose jaws are set with knives to devour the poor from the earth and the needy from among mankind.“ The leech has two daughters.‘ Give! Give!’ they cry.“ There are three things that are never satisfied, four that never say,‘ Enough!’:the grave, the barren womb, land, which is never satisfied with water, and fire, which never says,‘ Enough!’“ The eye that mocks a father, that scorns an aged mother, will be pecked out by the ravens of the valley, will be eaten by the vultures. For God said,‘ Honor your father and mother’ and‘ Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death.’But you say that if anyone declares that what might have been used to help their father or mother is‘ devoted to God,’they are not to‘ honor their father or mother’ with it. Thus you nullify the word of God for the sake of your tradition. (niv)
