But as evening approaches he is to wash himself, and at sunset he may return to the camp.

祂潔淨了我們被罪困擾的良心，用清水洗淨了我們的身體。因此，我們要信心十足、真誠地到上帝面前。

凡碰到他睡過的床的人都不潔淨，必須洗衣、沐浴，等到傍晚才能潔淨。

這位法利賽人看見耶穌飯前沒有行猶太人洗手的禮儀，十分詫異。主對他說：「你們法利賽人洗淨杯盤的外面，你們裡面卻充滿了貪婪和邪惡。

好藉著自己的道用水洗淨教會，使她聖潔，以便把聖潔、完美、沒有污點、皺紋等瑕疵的榮耀教會呈獻給祂自己。

第七天，他要再次剃掉頭髮、鬍鬚和眉毛等各處毛髮，並洗衣、沐浴，之後便潔淨了。

他病癒後，必須經過七天的潔淨期，要洗淨衣服，用清水沐浴，這樣就潔淨了。

任何人拿牠們的屍體，都必須洗淨所穿的衣服，要等到傍晚才能潔淨。

如果他沒有洗手就碰到別人，那人便不潔淨，必須洗衣、沐浴，等到傍晚才能潔淨。

求你用牛膝草潔淨我的罪，使我乾淨；求你洗淨我，使我比雪更白。

這件事是一個象徵，告訴現今的世代：所獻的禮物和祭物都不能使敬拜的人良心純全，因為這些不過是關於飲食和各樣潔淨禮儀的外在規條，等新秩序的時代一到，便不再有效了。

我用水為你們施洗，叫你們悔改。但在我之後，有位比我更有能力的要來，我連替祂提鞋都不配。祂要用聖靈和火為你們施洗。

這水代表的洗禮現在藉著耶穌基督的復活也拯救了你們。這洗禮要表明的不是除掉肉體的污穢，而是求在上帝面前有無愧的良心。

這人就不潔淨，要到傍晚之後才能潔淨。他要沐浴後才可吃聖物。

求你洗淨我的罪過，清除我的罪惡。

我要在你們身上灑清水潔淨你們，洗淨你們所有的污穢，除掉你們心中一切的偶像。

沾了精液的衣物或皮革都不潔淨，必須用水清洗，等到傍晚才能潔淨。如果男女同房，二人都不潔淨，必須沐浴，等到傍晚才能潔淨。「女人在月經期間，要不潔淨七天。凡接觸到她的人都不潔淨，要等到傍晚才能潔淨。月經期間，她躺過或坐過的東西都不潔淨。凡碰過她床的人都不潔淨，必須洗衣、沐浴，等到傍晚才能潔淨。人若碰到她坐過的地方，也不潔淨，必須洗衣、沐浴，等到傍晚才能潔淨。不論是她的床，還是她坐的東西，碰到的人都不潔淨，要等到傍晚才能潔淨。
