If someone has a stubborn and rebellious son who does not obey his father and mother and will not listen to them when they discipline him,

Suppose someone has a very stubborn son. He doesn’t obey his father and mother. And he won’t listen to them when they try to correct him.

“ If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey the voice of his father or the voice of his mother, and, though they discipline him, will not listen to them,

“ Suppose a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey his father or mother, even though they discipline him.

“要孝敬父母，使你在耶和華你的神賜給你的地上得享長壽。

各人要孝敬父母，也要謹守我的安息日；我是耶和華你們的神。

“‘輕慢父母的，必受咒詛。’眾民都要說：‘阿們。’

你們作兒女的，要在主裡聽從父母，因為這是理所當然的。“要孝敬父母，使你得福，在世長壽。”這是第一條帶著應許的誡命。

趁著還有指望的時候，要管教你的兒子；不可存心使他死亡。

諸天哪！要聽。大地啊！要留心聽。因為耶和華說：“我把孩子養育，使他們成長，他們卻背叛了我。

愚妄束縛孩童的心，管教的杖可以把愚妄遠遠驅除。

我兒，要聽從你父親的教訓，不可離棄你母親的訓誨。

“我傾覆你們，就像傾覆所多瑪和蛾摩拉一樣；你們像一根木柴，從火裡抽出來；但你們仍不歸向我。”這是耶和華的宣告。“因此，以色列啊！我必這樣對付你。以色列啊！因我必這樣對付你，你應當預備迎見你的神。”

因此你心裡要明白，耶和華你的神管教你，好像人管教他的兒子一樣。

“我清楚聽見以法蓮為自己哀歎，說：‘你管教了我，我像一頭不馴服的牛犢受管教；求你使我回轉，我就得以回轉，因為你是耶和華我的神。

偷竊自己父母財物，並說：“這不是罪過”的，這人是與強盜一夥。

在你裡面輕視父母的；在你中間有壓迫寄居的和欺負孤兒寡婦的。

要管教孩童，不可姑息，你雖然用杖打他，他也不會死；你要用杖打他，就可以救他的靈魂免下陰間。

不用杖責打兒子的，是恨惡他；愛兒子的，必對他勤加管教。

管教你的兒子，他必使你得安息；也必使你的心得喜樂。

我要作他的父親，他要作我的兒子，他若是犯了罪，我要用人的刑杖、用世人的鞭子糾正他。

你的污穢就是淫蕩。我想要潔淨你，你卻不願意潔淨，所以你的污穢再不能得到潔淨，直等到我向你發的烈怒止息。

你們為甚麼屢次悖逆，還要受責打嗎？你們整個頭都受了傷，整個心都發昏了。

愚妄人藐視父親的管教；看重責備的是精明的人。

耶和華啊！你的眼目不是要看誠實的事嗎？你擊打他們，他們卻不覺得傷痛；你摧毀他們，他們仍不肯接受管教。他們板著臉，臉皮比磐石還硬，總不肯回轉。

咒罵父母的，必要把那人處死。

有一種人（“有一種人”直譯是“有一世代”）咒詛父親，又不給母親祝福。

如果祭司的女兒羞辱自己去作妓女，就是羞辱了自己的父親；她必須用火燒死。

還有，肉身的父親管教我們，我們尚且敬重他們；何況那萬靈的父，我們不是更要順服他而得生嗎？肉身的父親照著自己的意思管教我們，只有短暫的日子；唯有神管教我們，是為著我們的好處，使我們在他的聖潔上有分。但是一切管教，在當時似乎不覺得快樂，反覺得痛苦；後來卻為那些經過這種操練的人，結出平安的果子來，就是義。

嘲笑父親，藐視年老母親的，他的眼必被谷中的烏鴉啄出來，給雛鷹所吃。

咒罵父母的，他的燈必在漆黑的幽暗中熄滅。

“打父母的，必要把那人處死。
