However, you may cut down trees that you know are not fruit trees and use them to build siege works until the city at war with you falls.

But you can cut down trees that you know aren’t fruit trees. You can build war machines out of their wood. You can use them until you capture the city you are fighting against.

Only the trees that you know are not trees for food you may destroy and cut down, that you may build siegeworks against the city that makes war with you, until it falls.

他又在耶路撒冷制造巧匠发明的器械，安放在城楼和城角上，用来发射利箭和大石。乌西雅的名声传到远方，因为他得了非常的帮助，使他十分强盛。

我们上哪里去呢？我们的兄弟使我们心灰意冷，说：那地的人比我们高大；他们的城邑又大又坚固，高耸入天；我们在那里还看见有亚衲族的人。’

有一座小城，人数不多；有一个大君王来进攻，把它包围，建造巨大的高垒攻城。

论到这城里的房屋和犹大王的宫殿，就是为了抵挡敌人的攻城土垒和刀剑而拆毁的，耶和华以色列的神这样说：

敌人建造围城的高墙，筑起攻城土垒要剪除多人的时候，法老率领大军和大队人马，还是不能帮助他作战。
