Give the people these orders:‘ You are about to pass through the territory of your relatives the descendants of Esau, who live in Seir. They will be afraid of you, but be very careful.

Here are the orders I want you to give the people. Tell them,‘ You are about to pass through the territory of your relatives. They are from the family line of Esau. They live in Seir. They will be afraid of you. But be very careful.

and command the people,“ You are about to pass through the territory of your brothers, the people of Esau, who live in Seir; and they will be afraid of you. So be very careful.

Give these orders to the people:“ You will pass through the country belonging to your relatives the Edomites, the descendants of Esau, who live in Seir. The Edomites will feel threatened, so be careful.

Command the people: You are about to travel through the territory of your brothers, the descendants of Esau, who live in Seir. They will be afraid of you, so be very careful.

And command thou the people, saying, Ye[ are] to pass through the coast of your brethren the children of Esau, which dwell in Seir; and they shall be afraid of you: take ye good heed unto yourselves therefore:

Instruct these people as follows:‘ You are about to cross the border of your relatives the descendants of Esau, who inhabit Seir. They will be afraid of you, so watch yourselves carefully.

那時，以東的族長驚惶，摩押的英雄被戰兢抓住，迦南所有的居民都融化。

「不可憎惡以東人，因為他是你的弟兄。不可憎惡埃及人，因為你曾在他的地上作過寄居的。

好使你們無可指責，誠實無偽，在這彎曲悖謬的世代作上帝無瑕疵的兒女。你們在這世代中要像明光照耀，

摩押因以色列百姓這麼多，非常懼怕。摩押因以色列人的緣故就憂懼。摩押對米甸的長老說：「現在這羣人要舔盡我們四圍的一切，好像牛舔盡田間的草一樣。」那時，西撥的兒子巴勒作摩押王。

你們的光也要這樣照在人前，叫他們看見你們的好行為，把榮耀歸給你們在天上的父。」

於是他對他們說：「你們要謹慎自守，躲避一切的貪心，因為人的生命不在於家道豐富。」

因你向兄弟雅各施暴，你必蒙羞，永被剪除。當陌生人擄掠雅各的財物，當外邦人進入他的城門，為耶路撒冷抽籤分取財物的日子，你竟站在一旁，像與他們同夥。你兄弟遭難的日子，你不該瞪着眼看；猶大人被滅的日子，你不該幸災樂禍；他們遭難的日子，你不該說狂傲的話。我子民遭災的日子，你不該進他們的城門；他們遭災的日子，你不該瞪着眼看他們受苦；他們遭災的日子，你不該伸手搶他們的財物。

現在，看哪，我要回到我的百姓那裏。來，讓我告訴你這百姓日後要怎樣對待你的百姓。」他就唱起詩歌說：「比珥的兒子巴蘭說，眼目關閉的人說，聽見上帝的言語，明白至高者的知識，看見全能者的異象，俯伏着，眼睛卻睜開的人說：我看見他，卻不在現時；我望見他，卻不在近處。有星出於雅各，有杖從以色列興起，必打破摩押的額頭，必毀壞所有的塞特人。以東將成為產業，西珥將成為它敵人的產業；但以色列卻要得勝。

你們要把握時機，用智慧與外人來往。

你們要謹慎行事，不要像無知的人，要像智慧的人。
