時我上帝耶和華聽希實本王西宏剛愎厥心、不容我過其地、為我所敗、以今日之事為證。

But Sihon king of Heshbon refused to let us pass through. For the Lord your God had made his spirit stubborn and his heart obstinate in order to give him into your hands, as he has now done.

But Sihon, the king of Heshbon, refused to let us walk through. The Lord your God had made him stubborn in his heart and spirit. The Lord wanted to hand him over to you. And that’s exactly what he has done.

But Sihon the king of Heshbon would not let us pass by him, for the Lord your God hardened his spirit and made his heart obstinate, that he might give him into your hand, as he is this day.

“ But King Sihon of Heshbon refused to allow us to pass through, because the Lord your God made Sihon stubborn and defiant so he could help you defeat him, as he has now done.

But King Sihon of Heshbon would not let us travel through his land, for the LORD your God had made his spirit stubborn and his heart obstinate in order to hand him over to you, as has now taken place.

But Sihon king of Heshbon was not willing for us to pass through his land; for the Lord your God hardened his spirit and made his heart obstinate, in order to hand him over to you, as he is today.

西宏不讓以色列人從他的地界經過，反而聚集人民出來到曠野、要對以色列人接戰；他到了雅雜、要和以色列人交戰。

永恆主對摩西說：『你回埃及去的時候，要留意將我交你手裏的一切奇事行在法老面前；我卻要使他的心頑強，他就不讓人民走。

因為經上有話對法老說：『我將你舉起來，正是要證顯我的權能在你身上，並在全地上遍傳我的名。』這便是他不但願意憐恤誰，就憐恤誰、而且願意叫誰剛愎、就叫誰剛愎了。這樣，你必對我說：『他為甚麼還指摘人呢？誰反對過他的主意呢？』但是人哪，你到底是誰，你這跟上帝頂嘴的？被塑造的哪能對塑造他的說：「你為甚麼造我像這樣呢？」窰匠對泥土難道沒有權柄從同一團泥作器皿，有的作成貴重的，有的作成下賤的麼？倘若上帝雖有意要證顯他的義怒，播知他的能力，卻用大恆忍寬容那應受義怒的、準備進入滅亡的、器皿，為要播知他榮耀之豐富是賜給那蒙憐憫的、那早豫備好了、可進入「榮耀」的、器皿，就怎麼樣呢？他所寬容的

西宏卻不信任以色列人，不讓他們經過他的地界；西宏便聚集眾民，在雅雜紮營，同以色列人交戰。

因為我知道你剛愎，你脖子是鐵的肌肉，你的額是銅的，

摩西、亞倫在法老面前行了這一切奇事；永恆主使法老的心仍然頑強，不讓以色列人離開他的地。

除了住基遍的希未人之外、沒有一個城跟以色列人講和的；這一切他們都在戰爭中奪取了來。因為使他們的心頑強、來對以色列人接戰的、是出於永恆主，要把他們盡行殺滅歸神，使他們不得恩待，反而被消滅掉，正如永恆主所吩咐摩西的。
