This very day I will begin to put the terror and fear of you on all the nations under heaven. They will hear reports of you and will tremble and be in anguish because of you.”

必無一人能在你們面前站立得住；耶和華－你們的神必照他所說的，使懼怕驚恐臨到你們所踏之地的居民。

外邦人聽見就發顫；疼痛抓住非利士的居民。那時，以東的族長驚惶，摩押的英雄被戰兢抓住，迦南的居民心都消化了。驚駭恐懼臨到他們。耶和華啊，因你膀臂的大能，他們如石頭寂然不動，等候你的百姓過去，等候你所贖的百姓過去。

天下萬民見你歸在耶和華的名下，就要懼怕你。

凡你所到的地方，我要使那裏的眾民在你面前驚駭，擾亂，又要使你一切仇敵轉背逃跑。

那撒但一會的，自稱是猶太人，其實不是猶太人，乃是說謊話的，我要使他們來，在你腳前下拜，也使他們知道我是已經愛你了。

他們出來的時候，埃及人便歡喜；原來埃及人懼怕他們。

他們回答約書亞說：「因為有人實在告訴你的僕人，耶和華－你的神曾吩咐他的僕人摩西，把這全地賜給你們，並在你們面前滅絕這地的一切居民，所以我們為你們的緣故甚怕喪命，就行了這事。

因為主使亞蘭人的軍隊聽見車馬的聲音，是大軍的聲音；他們就彼此說：「這必是以色列王賄買赫人的諸王和埃及人的諸王來攻擊我們。」所以，在黃昏的時候他們起來逃跑，撇下帳棚、馬、驢，營盤照舊，只顧逃命。

這城要在地上萬國人面前使我得頌讚，得榮耀，名為可喜可樂之城。萬國人因聽見我向這城所賜的福樂、所施的恩惠平安，就懼怕戰兢。」

對他們說：「我知道耶和華已經把這地賜給你們，並且因你們的緣故我們都驚慌了。這地的一切居民在你們面前心都消化了；因為我們聽見你們出埃及的時候，耶和華怎樣在你們前面使紅海的水乾了，並且你們怎樣待約旦河東的兩個亞摩利王西宏和噩，將他們盡行毀滅。我們一聽見這些事，心就消化了。因你們的緣故，並無一人有膽氣。耶和華－你們的神本是上天下地的神。現在我既是恩待你們，求你們指着耶和華向我起誓，也要恩待我父家，並給我一個實在的證據，
